ELLE: So, you sing about your love for shopping in Free. What’s on your belated Christmas list? NK: I just got 3 pairs of Alexander Wang shoes and 2 pairs of Miu Miu sunglasses. I’d spend rent money for the new Prabal Gurung glasses though. And the Christopher Kane wool/leather perfecto jacket… I’d trade my first born child for it! ELLE: Do you have a favorite Christmas song? NK: We never play Christmas songs exactly; we just blast our vinyls and dance cheek-to-cheek in the living room pretending it’s 1961 again. ELLE: If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be? NK: Elle Fanning. ELLE: Do you have a New Years’ resolution? NK: Continue to be delightfully irrational. ELLE: Tell us a good ol’ NYE disaster story. NK: I lost a few games of Dominoes and had to knock back the Baileys. I woke up in the bath with my vintage dress drenched. It looked like it was Halloween, not NYE! ELLE: What would you say was your biggest highlight of 2011? NK: I was opening on tour for Katy Perry in Brazil and I flew into the show on a helicopter. ELLE: Nice! So, you’ve traveled the world with everyone from Katy Perry to Robyn to the Black Eyed Peas. Tell us about some of your wildest experiences. NK: Going to the ancient Mayan pyramids in Mexico with Katy Perry was lovely. We took a picture together on top of a mountain directly in the center of the universe, and a few days later we closed down a theme park and rode the rides for 9 hours straight. But the wildest moment was when I jumped off a moving train from Paris to Berlin so I wouldn’t be late for my first headlining show. I didn’t break any bones, and I made it to the gig on time.
