Not for me. That was when I started getting into her and it was the second performance of hers that I watched on TV (the first one being her concert at Glastonbury). The video already had me a bit scared, and that performance hit me when I was not ready 

I felt something creepy feeling right from the beginning but didn't know what to expect, then the piano part got me thrilled and when she started bleeding I froze

I don't get why we always want Gaga to "out-icon" VMA 2009. She can be known for multiple "iconic" things (and she is: Grammy, SXSW, Jo at the VMA...). It is not how "iconic" works.

It solidified her as a household name and she singlehandedly raked in so many fans with that one performance.

Gaga could have been the next Katy Perry or Kesha and become a singles artist with basic performances and smash hits, but she pulled a Madonna and a Britney and became an icon in one night with that performance.
