PrinceGaga 7,585
Well, she herself stated that she wasn't aware of how stupid she looked until she watched the actual video, so yes, people tend to apologize for their wrong behavior once they get called out by someone for it and therefor realize their wrongs and become more conscious and learn from them, but in her case her wake up call was that video & now she has an entire country jumping on the "dehumanize Ariana Grande" ship, so give her a break, at least she's owning up to it and thats all what matters at the end of the day. And for people to start acting like they're some entitled individuals that are not capable of making any mistakes in order to endlessly judge her is just ridiculous. The way she behaved was ridiculous and if it takes a viral video (hm coincidence) for a responsible, mature person to see that, then the whole world is in trouble. Owning up to things is some of the time NOT all that matters actually. I didn't even want her to have a reason to apologise for anything. I want her to be mature and to be a strong voice in the world. I always thought she was until this. I want her to act her age, full stop. Basically meaning that she shouldn't have done it in the first place. She has some serious growing up to do. You're talking about my first post iv made about this 12 year old so if my response is "endless" then it's as long has her maturity. At zilch. Seriously watch the video again, she's behaving like a child. She keeps looking to her boyfriend like "daddy can I lick it please?". It's amazing what people do when they believe the cameras are off isn't it? It shouldn't take a viral video to realise to not act like that are you kidding me?? Sure Iv personally made mistakes but nothing that would cost my integrity or dignity. Iv made mistakes that myself as a 21 year old should make, like turning up for a uni exam at the wrong time. That's the difference. I know plenty of 21/22 year old girls that would NEVER in a million years behave the way she did. On or off camera, drunk or sober. She's a brat, who has a large me me me attitude, get over it. The only one who is acting like an "entitled individual" is her it seems.

But she acknowledged that and therefor apologized for her **** like behavior. Whats left for her to do? cry you a river? become a congress member and illegalize b---hy behaviors? whats the ****ing point of constantly reminding her of what she did when she herself owned up to it, became conscious of her mistakes & is ready to progress from there? literally what? I guess we should just behead her for licking those donuts. And for the record, this incident does not dismiss all the good she did, nor does it give you the right to mark her as a bad person.EDIT : However, if she goes around carelessly carrying that sort of behavior again, then you're more than right to call her out for it. I have no idea what she should do. I know for sure what she shouldn't have done to get herself in this problem in the first place.I haven't labeled her as a bad person. Never did I quote that, nor imply it. I have labeled her as an immature person with growing up to do.

But really, its not a big deal. God, there are bigger problems in the world.

The reactions to the America comment is very dramatic. I think people are just annoyed because she's famous and rich and she thinks she's entitled to act in whatever way. I thought I would contribute my 2 cents. It has gone too far and there are far more important things to worry about, 100% agree.
Echo 327
For some reason I don't feel like this is sincere Maybe because she's not actually looking into the camera. It's so true, it's not really. But like, she's just a 20 year old girl that says dumb stuff like this, they all do. When I see ridiculous food that's XXL I say something along the lines of what she said. It's never serious though, because duh we're like the best country ever. The video just made it seem not sincere at all, pretty cringe too because she isn't really saying anything besides she's sorry, no real reason. StrawberryBlond 14,829
Second apology and still insincere. Sorry that she got caught, not sorry for her actions. I kept expecting her to start apologising for the donuts, but no, her only acknowledgement of it was perhaps when she said that she was "sorry for what I said...and...my behaviour." I guess that was the acknowledgement. But that was all we got. The only time she even said the word donut was right at the beginning by referring to it as the donut fiasco. Her complete refusal to explicitly acknowledge the donut licking and apologise for it is why I can't accept this apology as genuine. She's just trying to draw away attention from the most controversial part (I'm sure we'd all agree that the donut licking was worse than the comment) but focusing on the lesser controversial part, as if that was the only thing she did wrong. The faux humbleness when she said "I want to apologise before this whole thing blows over" is really remarkable. She's essentially saying: "I can't wait until this horrible insight into my character is forgotten about by the world so my career is safe. Maybe if I actually state that it will blow over will condition the public into agreeing with me. But I'll add in that I want to say sorry first to give the impression that I'm prepared to take responsibility for my actions when I have the chance." Then she rambles on about why she loves America in the same way that she rambled on about childhood obesity in the first apology. Rambling is a big indicator of insincerity. On the whole, she isn't coming across naturally. In the donut shop, she was natural, the real, unfiltered Ariana that the cameras don't see. But this seems like the media-trained Ariana at work. She has repeatedly come off as a person who is Miss Sweetness And Light for planned, televised occasions but is your typical spoilt brat when the cameras are off. It's rare to find a 22 year old who is has innocent as her, after all.And I wish this word "mistake" wasn't repeatedly trotted out every time a celebrity apologises. They don't seem to know what the word means. A mistake is something you did wrong but you believed to be right (i.e. miscalucating a sum on your maths test), or something that you did wrong without even realising it was wrong (i.e. making an insensitive comment because you had never been educated about how this kind of comment was rude). The innocent intent is what deems it a mistake. However, if you know something is wrong, but do it anyway, that is not a mistake. That is rude/selfish/criminal behaviour depending on the situation. I'm 100% sure Ariana knew it was wrong to lick food that you weren't going to buy. But she did it anyway. That is disgusting, unhygenic behaviour and she should acknowledge it as such. It's not a mistake when you knew you were doing wrong. You did wrong because you thought you could get away with it. This is why so many people could never believe Chris Brown was truly remorseful because he repeatedly referred to the Rihanna incident as a mistake rather than the criminal act it was.If she'd said something like..."I'd like to apologise to the staff at the donut shop for defiling their food in such a disgusting way and I will happily pay to cover the cost of the donuts that got contaminated. I also send my apologies to the member of staff who put the donuts in front of me and overheard me making a flippant comment about how the donuts looked. I will be sending her flowers and paying for her to go and have dinner to make up for my rudeness. I am really glad that no one bought the donuts that I'd contaminated and I would feel so guilty if they had. I promise I will never do something so disgusting again and I hope anyone who viewed the video doesn't think that what I did was a funny dare that they want to emulate. It was a stupid thing to do and I wouldn't encourage anyone else to do it."....then I'd be totally fine with it, applaud her for being mature and doing the right thing and move on. But no, she's repeatedly running away from the big issue at hand and that's what makes me doubt her sincerity and not accept her apology. I don't know who she's trying to convince: the world or herself.

Starfirex 1
im not shading the post at all... im just saying in general, why is this getting so much attention? i feel like everyone's making a bigger deal out of it than it is. sure licking the donuts was kinda gross, but theres no proof that they ACTUALLY licked them. also, even if she did hate America... that's her opinion? lol.. Knife 6,879
Firstly, why is her eye makeup only done on one eye?Secondly, I think she should be forced to gorge herself on donuts until she is morbidly obese, and can truly live up to the name 'Ariana Grande.' The punishment has to fit the crime.

The shop owner said those trays of donuts were completely sold out by the end of the night.

By apologizing for her language & behavior she's basically including all of the above. Tracking down the donuts buyers & inviting them for a dinner? this is not a spanish telenovela.
