Who likes commercial success for gaga???

I like when gaga gets good sales, high amounts of views, and high peeks on countdowns. Im not gonna deny that that is something that I love and want to happen with gaga.

I still don't care that much if she doesn't do well, I mean its lady ****ing gaga, but if she is nominated for a grammy or something, I want her to win.

Is it a bad thing to want this of your favourite artist? The artist you stan for?

I feel like everyone on this site puts monsters who enjoy seeing gaga getting success down, saying things like you should only care about her and her music.

I do care more than anyone could possibly know about gaga and her music, and without meaning to contradict myself, I don't care if she gets success as long as shes happy.

Sometimes i do care tho. Like with ARTPOP. That is one of my favourite albums out ever. Way up there with btw, jagged little pill...

Is it wrong that i don't like when my friends at school call it artflop or things like that because of its overall success??

Also i do want gaga herself to be happy, and even though she says that she gives two ****s about her success, i think a small part of her gets happy when she wins the award or snags the top spot on the hot 100.

Does anyone else like gaga getting that commercial success??

Once again all i really care about is gagas happiness, so don't start saying otherwise plz.

Iโ€™m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Well, I just don't really care about all of this.ย

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I love it when she has all the number ones, I just don't think that should be her priority. I'd rather her be a niche artist putting out music she believes in than a trying to be the one topping the charts. However, that being said, she can top the charts with music she believes in, it's just harder to do. :yes:ย

I'm not saying it's the most important but ofc when she is slaying it's good. It's a bonus for me.

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Everyone would like her to be commercially successful I'm sure. Some people just don't care about it enough to place it above the music or have her sacrifice the quality of her work to gain it :shrug:ย

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

It's nice to see her do well, but a lack of success wouldn't impact on my enjoyment of the music; I still listen to tracks from ARTPOP everyday.ย

of course we want her to be successful, as long as it's on her terms. ย  ย If she puts out an album she's proud of and artistically is what she wants, and it does well, thats great. ย  "Music not the bling" just means that the art has to lead the way, not the commerciality. ย When I read the Forbes article with Katy Perry the main thing that came to me was that everything she does is tied to branding and targeted as a commercial venture. ย She seems to want to be a businesswoman who makes money with pop music, rather than a musician who is growing and exploring her art.

Thats not to say that Gaga won't do certain things to make sure her stuff at least has a chance for radio play, etc. ย  As John Mayer has said, it's ok to want to make a hit record. ย  However, when all the art is subservient to "making hits" then you are producing product, not art. ย And god knows there is more than enough "product" in the pop industry as it is.

My favorite band of all time is a hard rock band named King's X. ย They are brilliant and hugely talented. ย They were on the verge of good success at times but never made it, and certainly not to the point of bands that had far less ability. ย  ย Yes I wanted them to be more successful, because they deserve it. ย  But I appreciate that they never changed what they do simply to cash in.

And there is literally no reason why people should allow commercial success to color their own enjoyment of an artists work. ย  Thats where pop fan bases get stupid imo, is so much of stan life seems to depend on how successful your "fav" is and people trying to use that as some sort of standing. ย  Really, people need to think independently and be ok with not being part of the clique of "fans of most popular celebrity." ย And stand up for the artist you like, even if other people try to drag them down on measurements that have nothing to do with the artistic work.

I guarantee that there are local musicians out there, probably some near you, with more talent than any of the big pop stars. ย There is always someone.ย  ย  Being on the forbes top 10 most wealthy celebrities list has nothing to do with quality of artistry.

I rather critical acclaim & art, Bjรถrk on time went more experimental, Mandy Moore went folk/adult contemporary, etc.. that's why i loved C2C, even when the songs are covers, it's a new sound for ha, i know she will always do pop and it's ok, but if she eentually goes a little bit more alternative & would still love her, and maybe more, i really don't care about commercial succes tbh
