I think he and Gaga produce their best work when they can cherry pick songs out of a whole bunch - as long as he's not LG5's leading producer, we'll probably get 1 or 2 really good songs. He can either knock it out of the park (Electric Chapel, Do What U Want, Applause) or produce some of the most dry and underwhelming songs in Gaga's discography (Jewels N' Drugs, MANiCURE, Swine). I don't know about his personality, I follow him on IG and he seems funny but according to you guys his ego is really big so i'll take it and run. freebit 6,240 Posted July 8, 2015 Share Posted July 8, 2015 I am sure many fans let their opinions be influenced by the charts, but also some people on GGD just have to accept that some fans really dislikes ARTPOP for what it is and not because of its underperformance. Actually, the fact that it is not that good as her previous albums is directly linked with its underperformance and one of the reasons for it to underperfom were the lazy productions. Songs like Applause, Aura, Swine and ARTPOP deserved better treatment. Of course the management were terrible too (DWUW could have slayed) but still the album as a whole is weak for Gaga standards. I listen to AP, but I always feel bitter when listening to some songs cause they could be better.Well, yeah I accept that people just don't care for it point blank. At the same time I think the main problem with AP is the lyrics and concept, which do not showcase her full capabilities. To me this lyricism issue all became especially evident when I listened to the mashup that layered Michael Jackson's songs over AP's production. The problems with production just seems like such a scapegoat issue to me (especially the "EDM is soooo dated" crowd, which ignored how even the most generic EDM tracks like Break Free blew up and were praised to the heavens by pop lovers).
