For her 'acting' aspirations, sure... that's been the case with numerous others....Rhianna, Brittney, Madonna ... Cher somewhat, but she is one of those who was well received as an actress and buts less so for her music.

I disagree completely, Justin Timberlake is loved by the GP as a singer and loved as an actor

If they're good at both, they will be praised for both

He's been ripped apart as an actor. JT isn't close to being as good an actor as he is a music artist. (and I say that as a long time fan)

I am worried that after she's built herself back up she'll crash down, but I have faith in her

I'm talking about her acting specifically.
She's a popstar and in ppl's minds you can either be one thing or the other: you're either a singer or an actress. I could give numerous examples, but this thread is already full of them...

Frankly, if critics praise her acting - which would be the unusual thing -, then I'm afraid they'd become even harsher when evaluating her music.

Speaking of music itself, Gaga was never criticized for singing jazz even though she's a pop star. But I understand that your comparison was between acting and singing. Just pointing out that she did succeed with jazz.

omg yes that hottie is so loved by the GP, In Time and Friends with Benefits were both awesome movies

If I judge her on her acting skills in MTN video then we are in for a flop.

I imagine Gaga understands that she is going to be put under a microscope and needs this to be incredible. Let's not pretend like she is the best at acting so I hope they give her a good character and script.

MTN is the only evidence for us to defend her acting skills. I don't know what you're talking about. :emma:

I don't think he's that recognized as an actor, tbh...most ppl I know say he should stick to making music and I see the same attitude on the internet as well. Besides, he's a man. The GP adores dragging women...

Anyway, I hope she's praised for her acting, but I stand by what I've said: let's all be prepared for the worst.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Guys are judged differently than women tho.  A female has to have s-x-appeal on top of all the other things.  Plus, JT has a clean image overall, no d--gs or and bad boy stuff associated with him.

I don't care what people say, I just hope she is good because I love AHS and don't want her presence to be a distraction.

But I have faith, I feel like she can deliver.

Bette Davis

She's dedicated and talented and Ryan Murphy is a perfectionist. I think it'll turn out well :sis:

Here's hoping critics will be not be as harsh as how they were in 2013

I voted No but I have mixed feelings for this.

But I'm also equally excited for positive reviews. I remember when Freakshow (season 4) started airing, 9GAG and a lot of other websites started sharing and reporting about the season. And 9GAG has been pretty supportive of Gaga since she "toned it down" this year so I believe the GP will get a new insight of Gaga's diverse talent. It will be quite beneficial to her image for the next album. I have this feeling that she's not going to be recognized as the flamboyant pop star anymore, she's going to be recognized as a s-xy, hot Hollywood actress/singer with big boobs, sort of like Jennifer Lopez's image except more talented in terms of music.

"Toning it down." has helped with her overall appeal, so I think people will inherently be more open to it.
