Do you think Tony puts down Gaga's pop music?

Yes, but it's totally understandable that someone of his age and the genre he's in would not appreciate her pop works.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

The problem I have with Tony questioning why Gaga performs and writes contemporary music is that contemporary music today turns into "classic" decades down the road. Music, much like life, evolves.

Why would Tony Bennett listen to ARTPOP? Hes supportive of her and her talent, doesn't mean he has to like her music. And im sure he does appreciate her as a pop artist to a certain degree but it seems pretty obvious/understandable that its just not his thing.

He said "I don't understand why she makes contemporary music, she's such a talented singer."

I respect Tony's opinion but just because jazz is good doesn't mean EDM is bad.

If it weren't for contemporary music, we wouldn't even be here, Gaga wouldn't even be this big. Plus Gaga doesn't just make basic ordinary pop music, Gaga makes ARTPOP, greatest EDM album of all time. :fat:

:worship::worship:amen yess so true like gagas music is special....she appeals to fans who don't even like pop... Its on a diff level rare talenttalent jus . Watched BTW someone posted on that French show .....blown away **** I miss BTW era

Gaga hasn't written for teeny-boppers for a couple albums now. I really don't think Bennett is familiar enough with her music to honestly claim that her discography is somehow beneath her.

I think that he just doesn't care for electronic dance, and well, that happens to be Gaga's genre of choice for now.

In their newest interview (Ravinia magazine) he says her music appeals to teeny boppers.

that's an awful thing to say about us and for Gaga to hear.

Except he wasn't saying it as an insult. He probably has seen all the young kids and young adults that wait for Gaga after shows or come to the M&Gs to see her, and most of them are way younger than his fanbase has been for decades now. To Tony, anyone that looks under the age of thirty, is probably a "teenybopper". :teehee:

Probably. I mean, I can't see him getting down to Aura or Mary Jane Holland...

He disagrees. I'm okay with that.

Tony needs to understand that Jazz dominated before, in his time. It's another time. It's the 21st century. What's popular today is electronic, and no way he can change that. If Gaga chooses to do something like that, then let her. :crossed:
