Honesty Hour: Are you here for another jazz album?

That may be what Tony does and many other artists, but Gaga isn't them. Gaga has never been part of the crowd. She has always been the one who leads the crowd. Gaga's albums have always consisted of original material so her releasing an album of covers is surprising to a lot of fans. Christina Aguilera released a jazz album which consisted of original tracks as her first (though only) jazz album and it was acclaimed and massively successful, so I don't buy that excuse.

I am a huge jazz fan, but Cheek to Cheek just doesn't capture my attention unfortunately. Gaga is a massive talent that can do a lot more.

I just think, why couldn't Gaga bring GAGA to jazz music?

Back To Basics isn't a full jazz record. It's primarly a pop record with jazz elements (among others). I adore B2B so I would be here for Gaga making a record like that.

Right now I would love her to release her next album, but sometime down the road, sure why not? She can do as she pleases. If I don't like it I'll just wait for her next material.

I would love it tbh, just not as an immediate release and also it would be great if she did jazz renditions of her own songs, or rather her own songs period. Not just covers of classics.

Absolutely. Cheek to Cheek is one of my favorite things Gaga has ever done. This album catapulted her into another realm.

She did bring "GAGA" to jazz music, through her vocal interpretations. That's what jazz artists do, when they sing or perform the standards.

Gaga did a duet album, with a music LEGEND, an artist who has built his entire career on interpreting The American Standards...and one who is HIGHLY respected in this genre of music and as an artist overall. To expect Gaga to do anything but respect Tony, his legacy and the music itself shows that some clueless fans were expecting something that was never going to happen. Gaga and Tony were going to select songs for their duet album from The Great American Songbook and interpret them and perform them in their unique way. That is the art form they are presenting, and their peers awarded them the best album of the year in this category of music!

Brooke Hoegan

when she's 50 or so, she's welcome

but now, when she's still young, I want her to record album to which she can do interesting MVs and dance to them on tours... and it can't be properly achieved with this kind of music, sorry :neyde:

totally, but after her own personal work. I'd be in for an album "in the middle" of her next albums.
