Melech 9,900
It's very simple. Israel plays a major role in the instability of the Middle East. For more than 6 decades, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a constant source of terrorism, hate, wars etc. not only there but all over Europe, Africa and Asia. People are tired of that. People want peace which can't be achieved given the current Israeli politics. So the rise of antisemitism is quite normal. If you have a country, a state whose politicians think they could do whatever they want with hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinian victims, with hundreds of thousands of innocent Israeli people..then these are the consequences. And i'm sure the antisemitism wave will rise even more. And it's only Israeli's government fault. Too bad, they don't think about the millions of Israeli people around the world who suffer because of inadequate, cruel and narrow-minded political decisions. Woah woah, take a seat now. Anti-semitism always existed. Even before the creation of Israel in the last century. Anti-semitism has a huge history in the Muslim and Christian world. Secondly Jewish =/= Israel. Thirdly you sound like a complete anti-Semite yourself. You giving Israel all the fault for the anti-semitism in the world, which clearly not true. Do you also give Arab countries (which have by the way a way more worse government. Oppression of woman and homos-xuals etc. Those things doesn't happen in Israel) the fault for islamophobia? You are talking about Palestinian victims. What about the victims in Arab countries that get persecuted there? In 1969, about 50 of the Jews who remained were executed; 11 were publicly executed after show trials and hundred thousand Iraqis marched past the bodies in a carnival-like atmosphere. This conflict is not black an white.

And you know what, for years I was a full supporter of the state of Israel and his actions. Maybe you can call be islamophobe, not antisemite. However when I grew older, when I broadened my knowledge and perspective I came to conclusions that it is Israel who's fully responsible for the situation in the Middle East. Not because the arabs are clean and innocent, but it's the duty of the more developed, of the more civilized to make changes, to lead the progress. What is Israel doing - the opposite. Sorry, but my patience with Israel is over. And so is with many, many people in Europe and around the world.

hmm 979
Well the world can't be that developed to see that Hamas is the one throwing bombs on is real and that you can't say Jews=Israel That first bit didn't have anything to do with what he said though? Anyway, the UN report on the Gaza conflict last summer criticised both Hamas and Israel and accused them both of war crimes. - OT: Anti-semitism in all its forms is disgusting and these people are just idiots

Luc 4,776
The latest round of Anti-Semitism in the West is coming mostly from Leftists and Muslims. Many radical leftists have defined Israel as the bad guys and as racist/colonialist, and called for boycotts, and said intemperate things. Our Conservative PM is a great supporter of Israel..Typical observation from the viewpoint of a conservative. Don't know if you're really a conservative, but that doesn't matter. You have to accept that there is a difference between Israel and Jews. Boycotting Israeli products does not make one an anti-semite. Saying that the Israeli state is racist/colonialist (which it is) does not make one an anti-semite.It's mostly muslims who are anti-semites, but that's not really very prevalent. In my country 9% of morrocans have a negative opinion about jews, while 47% of the Dutch have a negative opinion about moroccans. Of course politicians, from the left to the right, only paid attention to the former statistic and ignored the second statistic eventhough it was from the same research, I think the latter statistic is way more worrisome. Luc 4,776
So, Israel is not allowed to defend? You can't have a debate/discussion if you have different perceptions/definitions of words.Defense, for me, means making the pain for your own country the least possible. For Israel's right-wing conservative government, defense means attacking. It's comparable to the gun laws in the US. I don't think killing somebody because you felt like you could be attacked is justified, while some racists and social-conservatives consider it to be 'self-defense'. hmm 979
Israel is only attacking Hamas which attacks Israel. Hamas aim is to kill jewish-israeli people. And killing thousands of innocent civilians in the process, which means they need to reconsider their tactics.
Alii 2,039
There are lot of reasons. Mostly because of the common stereotypes. "Jews rule the money and banks" "Jews are children murderer" etc. I don't hear these two here. The most common one is "Jews don't keep their promise."
