If you read it, she says it's not about her music and that she makes more than enough from live shows. The point is that during Apple Music's 3 month trial thing, no-one gets any royalties from streaming, which is ridiculous. Apple should foot the bill.

bling not the music  tbh i get that this is a major issue to small artists who just begin to release their music and aren't successful, it's sad that Apple decided not to support them for such a long period of time and force them into putting their material there for free

but it should be them protesting and not someone so big as Taylor, it just seems like she's hiding behind that whole small artist support thing but is truly only doing this because she did it with other streaming services who didn't pay her enough coins to support her/her labels ego

TBH 3 months free is too much cause there is some truth to what she said . In my opinion 1 month free sounds about right. That way fans and GP can see if it's worth the subscription and i'm sure everyone can go off without a month's worth of payment tbh cause in the end you get your name out there which eventually leads to a lot of cash.  I think my solution will make everyone happy it's fair enough to everyone I feel. Taylor also said if something is done about this she hinted that she might promote the service. Apple should think about this , they've also got the interest of Gaga. If these two artist alone promote the service it would reach the skies in terms of success. Lol instead of Tidal and their whole artists. Gaga is smart and has been part of the technology realm for ages ,she knows the means of music through technology and the future of it she can make the service of interest to many. Taylor has the GP in her hands and basically if Taylor says its ok everyone will take her word for it.  

Oh and the reason Gaga did not complain is and will always be "Music not the bling"

This is not about me. Thankfully I am on my fifth album and can support myself, my band, crew, and entire management team by playing live shows. This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs.

These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child. These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. We simply do not respect this particular call.

Y'all are just messy.

Taylor is arguably one of the biggest songwriters in the world right now. If she speaks up about unfair deals within the entertainment industry and tries to give performers/producers/songwriters a platform to voice their sentiments, people will listen. And actually question/protest unfair deals. This would have gone COMPLETELY unnoticed if somebody like Grimes wrote it. I wanna see your cheap couch potato asses work three entire months for free and not just blow your parent's hard-earned money.

I'm not saying that's not true, of course it is. I'm just saying that you all need to look at the bigger pictire here. If you're an artist/songwriter/singer whatever, and you make a deal with Apple, you WILL SACRIFICE those three months because you know how big Apple is and you know that after those three months, your paychecks will start coming. 

Three months is not a short period of time, but it is duable for the better future and they all know it.

Three months could be enough to hit absolute rock bottom and lose everything. One month already could be enough to hit absolute rock bottom. What is the bigger picture when without a paycheck you are potentially homeless and in 100k debt that you can't pay back anymore? Not saying this is Taylor, but it's the harsh reality of thousands of songwriters who get f*cked over by their labels AND streaming services.
