I actually think Madonna is reinforcing ageism, not fighting it... her message is that only youthfulness is attractive, and that a mature woman is attractive only if she's dressed like a 20 year old surrounded by other 20 year olds.

There wasn't a single person on the planet complaining when she was s-xy in a mature way in the Ray of Light days.

 

and there are numerous older women acting s-xy and attractive in a more mature way without being bashed, because their message is completely different.

erm... I actually don't think there is anything worng with the BIM video lol (in terms of being s-xy, there's another topic which is her way of acting and things she does but yeah)

I talked about two specific moments.

And, if at least those specific moments were supported by artistry or something with quality they wouldn"t be seem the same way...

look at the ROL video. That's one of the most provocative things she has done. And it was very talked about, with polarised reactions... but it is a fact that the song is amazing, the video is amazing, it was a hit, and it made history. 

Which is very different from what she does now when she tries to be provocative or shocking.

i don't know about that last statement. Should people being dancing on bars at any age? Isn't considered kind of trashy? As for booty shorts, I have seen plenty of twenty-somethings running around in them that do not look good in them, where-as I could see someone like J.Lo or Kylie rocking the duck out of them. 

I'm not sure what it is with this forum. Last week I see people posting how Gaga looked 26 in one of her photos, as if 26 is the desirable age to be. Firstly, she's flipping 29 years old, but I guess that's considered too old here. I am talking about people in general not Jlo or kylie who are celebrities but they even look young for their age and keep their bodies very fit. They look years younger than they are they can pull it off. Booty shorts; well of course some people wear booty shorts that shouldn't but its age appropriate and its much more appealing for a perosn in their 20's to wear booty shorts or skimpy clothes than someone in their 50's and 60's. Some older women have great bodies that would put younger women to shame but that still doesn't mean should be wearing 20 year old clothes. Just cause you can wear it doesn't mean you should. 

As for dancing on bars, yes sometimes its a bit trashy but other times its not depends on the circumstances (how drunk they are, showing their panties etc).

I just think s-xy for an older women is a completely different look that s-xy for a 25 year old. That is life as you mature you grow up. Who would want to be 50 and wearing booty shorts ugh.

Idk if I'm the only one, but people immediately become more physically attractive when their personalities are kind and good. It's why Gaga is one of the most attractive people imo. All I know about Caitlyn is that she's given a little hope and awareness to the trans* community, which is good.

All I honestly know about Madonna is...well...let's just say, I don't care for the woman. I honestly could care less about what she does, though. She has a right to do whatever, but I'll never find her attractive in all honesty.
