Jessica Lange: "I have no idea if Gaga is an actor or not."

Jessica Lange was recently interviewed by the Daily Beast in which she was asked how she felt about Lady Gaga leading American Horror Story: Hotel. Read below!

The new season is about to start filming and the lead torch is being passed to Lady Gaga. You were asked about it at the Paley Center panel, how you felt about her taking over, and people were trying to read into what you were saying by what you were not saying.

What did I say? I don’t remember.

You didn’t say much…

The question was, now that she was going to do it would I be interested in coming back to work with her or something.

Which was an interesting way to phrase that question.

It was a near-impossible question to answer. It reminded me of what Gertrude Stein supposedly said on her death bed. When she said, “What is the answer? For that matter what is the question?” That’s how I felt. What is the question?

So the more clear question would be: how do you feel about her leading the show in your absence?

She’ll be surrounded by all those great actors. The same ones I had the great opportunity to work with. I have no idea if she’s an actor or not. But I’m sure it will all work out. I don’t know what the season is, what they’re doing, what the premise is, who the characters are. But all I can say is she’s going to have good writing and she’s going to have great actors to work with. It’s a good start.

She's not wrong though, we haven't really see her being an actress... But like her I do think it's a good start to play with great actors. And AHS is full of them !

she's just being honest. she really doesn't know if gaga is a good actor because she hasn't seen her act. but she isn't worried because she knows gaga will have great guidance

I'm sorry but Jessica is being really immature about it all...

Every reply just has this underlying tone of jelousy or something, i have no idea. Its making her look really bad and I've actually lost some respect for her, with all the ways she's answering these questions about gaga.

It's like she's mad that Gaga's taken her place? Just say that you're happy with her and leave at that. Being shady isn't always a good thing, it makes you look pressed and immature

That's not really the same though... I call this being a performer... But being the lead lady of a show will require actress talent... I have no doubt Gaga can be a great actress but Jessica Lange got a point, we'll only know she's good when we'll see her in this show... Now we only can say she'll play with a good team.
