"A Nobel laureate has come under fire for shockingly s-xist remarks at the World Conference of Science Journalists in Seoul, South Korea.

Tim Hunt, who won the 2001 Nobel Prize in medicine for his work on cell duplication, was speaking at an invitation-only lunch in honor of women in science.

The 72-year-old scientist said that he has a reputation as a chauvinist, and that labs should be segregated by s-x.

'Let me tell you about my trouble with girls,” he reportedly said. “You fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them, they cry!'"

Well, he's not a "peace prize" winner...I mean, there are plenty of smart ppl out there who are entirely blind to most social issues, s-xism being one of them...at least he's getting some flack for it, bc 10 years ago nobody would even care...

​It's basically saying female scientists in the work place are weak and don't deserve to work amongst males because they can't handle honesty because they're weak and feminine and they will cry

​Assuming that all women in science labs are like "victims of their own emotions", can't take criticism and only work there to fish for men is pretty s-xist. :neyde:
