Born This Way lacked coherence, ARTPOP and The Fame did not

Not the majority of the replies being rude, the OP was just presenting an idea/opinion :wtf:

dude don't worry about these d bags, you have a right to put your idea out there.

anyways, i get what you're saying. :applause: bravo indeed.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm in the right fanbase. Born This Way the entire album was about love and acceptance, was the album made in vain? Where has the message gone to? These fans (how ironic, BORN THIS WAY FANS) aren't exactly acting the same way Gaga educated us. #promoteonlinekindness

Thanks though to y'all for trying to be nice

Y'all are rude  fishing for them likes.

I totally agree that ARTPOP is an album from Gaga's perspective, which is why it came off as non-relatable to many. I think it's very interesting to see how her mind unfolds and takes the form of a record. Not many artists write for themselves, but for the media or the generic crowd. Hearing Gaga's purest thoughts in the form of pop--thoughts like, "I know that mom and dad think I'm a mess..." or, "Do you want to see the girl who lives behind the aura?" is pure ART imo and that is what makes the album consistent, even if it's not obvious at first. :legend:

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

stop trying to make e ARTPOP deep

Gaga surely loves fans like you. And I feel for bad for some people who think we love ARTPOP out of the attempted effort we put into the album cause we genuinely love the album itself. We weren't even trying. lol

The opposite...BTW stayed consistent to the theme in different ways, but ARTPOP was all over the place...

BTW showed different aspects of fighting for who you are and learning to stand up for yourself...

ARTPOP tried to put cover too many topics in ONE album and didn't have anything to do with art in front of pop. It was heavy in s-x and d--gs...

I think BTW's coherence is a little bit easier to see at first.  Whereas ARTPOP has coherence, but it may take more than a couple listens to see that.  Either way,  both amazing albums and I'm glad OP brought this topic up as I myself have thought about this many times.

It's just a usual discussion. Why are people so sensitive? Not to mention your gif is a little offensive. I mean I don't usually say 'IDC' when people voice out their opinions.

sorry. its just that, we need to move on. yes. btw is incoherent thats why it received criticisms upon its release

I disagree.

TFM is the most coherent (besides Telephone) imo. And what you're describing as coherent, is that the whole album is related to the title. Coherence is also musically, next to lyrically and what message it has.

Born This Way describes the rise of a person from her darkest day to her brightest with themes like acceptation, emancipation, immigrant mistreatment, betrayal and more passing by.

First, I doubt Gaga loves Born This Way more than ARTPOP.

Second, Gaga loves all her albums, in my introduction I expressed my love towards Born This Way and also specifically mentioned several songs which I love. However I also defended ARTPOP.

You, however, commented "Stop trying to make ARTPOP sound deep".

Wow, I can see Gaga agreeing to that. :applause:

every song on btw is related to the concept

love yourself and be rebellious

it touches the topic about lgbt bullying feminism religion politics love

and the sound is coherent too

in ARTPOP gaga mentions the word art in 3 songs applause aura and ARTPOP

what does Jewels N' Drugs donatella fashion MANiCURE have to dow ith any of that

No I dont agree. There's at least much more sound-cohesiveness on Born This Way than on ARTPOP, objectively talking.

BTWs lyrical content also wins at it but thats more arguable with the POP as a vehicle of ART theory applyed on AP (hence why AP lyrics needed to be lighthearted, about different topics, etc).

Thank you for expressing your opinion @ARTSLAVE.  I agree with some of the valid points you have raised but I believe Born This Way is as cohesive and amazing as ARTPOP and The Fame Monster.  To me, all of Gaga's work makes perfect sense.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

IN TERMS OF SOUND

ARTPOP is probably the least cohesive, but if you really think about it - so was The Fame. It wasn't until The Fame Monster and BTW that her sound became a little more cohesive. I prefer an album that has a cohesive sound and I hope she brings that on the next album.
