Do you guys honestly believe Legendary Lovers is the new ET?

Go compare the choruses. LL is good, but ET just takes you aback. Huge difference.

Anyway I find this album not bad, just kind of plain. Like I have no interest to listen again.

To me the album is very boring, except for a few tracks (Roar, Walking on Air, This is How We Do), and I am doubting her choice of a second single. Makes me look forward to ARTPOP even more now tbh.

Wow, I'm loving the whole of it!

Unconditionally doesn't sound as a proper 2nd single though. Much better International Smile or Birthday.

One Five Ten

I like Katy but it's just amazing how different and unenthused I feel after listening to 40 second snippets of songs after going mental over a 12 second snipped of GUY tonight

From what we've heard, ARTPOP is gonna be pop album of the year, easily. Sorry Katy. What does the GP see that we don't?

All songs sound similiar. Very similiar.

Mid-tempo and ballad songs' numbers are higher than up-tempo.

There's only 2 up-tempo (WOA + International Smile) :(

For me, Dark Horse is more like PRISM's ET. It's a promo single which could be an official single along the way. It also has that cross-over appeal for it to become a huge seller and radio hit, similar to ET with Kanye West.

Idk, I feel like Dark Horse has a huge build up and then it just goes back to the verse. I showed it to all my friends and that bothered them. Musically, it builds up and then it's a let down.

E.T. just builds up and the chorus is a banger from start to finish.

I don't think anything on this album really compares to that kind of chorus. None of them really take you aback and make you wanna dance. In that sense, Roar is unfortunately the biggest hit material on PRISM.

It's sounds quite terrible. I don't mean to be negative but c'mon, Katy, seriously? you're supposed to evolve as your career goes on and not vice versa

Wtf. If you don't pay attention listening to it, they all sound the same  too much bubblegum pop, it's so boring. The only track that got my attention is Spiritual because it sounds unique and different than the others.

I used to hate Dark Horse before until now. At least that was outstanding.

I think I'd still even enjoy listening to Bangerz more after this is released.

there's NOTHING bad about this album at ALL. it's really cohesive. the production, the lyrics, and the vocals are all EXCELLENT. her voice really stands out--no autotune--and you hear all the emotion in her voice. emotion in the lyrics, too.and the production is so atmospheric and dramatic.

my favorites: Roar, Legendary Lovers, Unconditionally, Love Me, This Moment, Double Rainbow, By The Grace Of God, It Takes Two

Gagas 12 second G.U.Y snippet destroys the whole album. Kartys snippets sound quite boring and they nearly all sound like album fillers.

:hehe:

Yeah, I agree on that. No wonder they chose it as the lead single. In terms of overall digital sales and radio audience impressions, Roar might be her biggest from this era. There are a couple which are #1 material, but I couldn't see them as huge as Roar. It's PRISM's Firework as an inspiring anthem with the lead single status advantage like California Gurls. She basically got two in one with that song.
