MonsterMarty 96
which one has the Westboro Baptist Church Are they protestant? And which priests rape little boys? yeah Both. But at least we dont have Jehova witnesses. Which church is corrupt? All religions are corrupt to a degree, some (Catholicism) far more than others. No organized religion is exempt. so what? Atheist doing this a lot as well, just read the posts in this thread or in general on GGD. There's massive disparity in religious people and atheists on this topic. It comes down to rationale - believing in a particular higher being who created us and everything we know and all that exists, without any evidence is irrational, and worse yet, the idea that this God would care about what you do/don't do and as a result decides what happens to a part of your being that is not definable let alone identifiable which is the sole (pun intended) cause for encouraging of good, i.e. people are only moral to get into heaven/avoid hell, in human beings is even more irrational. You might consider that "militant" but it's just very hard for many atheists to grasp how otherwise rational-thinking people can box off a part of their brain to believe this kind of thing. Belief in God is explainable in human nature: we want answers to big questions that science can't answer well enough either due to us not having the technology or thought-processes yet, or because some things can't be known. But religion is man-made cashing-in on that part of human nature, in order to gain power over others and amass wealth.

Religions have been here for centuries, better yet millenia and are here to stay. There are even scientists that will go as far to claim there is a "God gene". MonsterMarty 96
Religions have been here for centuries, better yet millenia and are here to stay. There are even scientists that will go as far to claim there is a "God gene". Scientist dispute a lot, but often mainstream media takes much out of context. The "God gene" is meant to be a gene that when active allows some people experience some sort of supernatural feelings... that sounds convincing! If there were a God, he genetically modifies certain persons to have specific genes transcribed in order to feel him/her? We've come further in the last century than all before it combined. Atheism is growing, so if nothing else, religion is declining rapidly among many populations. It sort of begs the questions - all the religions that have existed, all the thousands of Gods... it's literally a case of make-it-up-as-you-go. The sun was a god, then we discovered it's a ball of gas burning in our solar system. Now we have God(s) that made everything because we don't know how or why the Big Bang occurred (though it begs the question who created God) and monitor what we all do in order to determine where we're all headed when we pop our clogs, answering the question of an afterlife. The writing is sort of on the wall for the former in terms of creation of life in "God's image" with the discovery of evolution, and the latter is something unknowable, and so pointless to attribute to anything, much less something even harder to explain or prove. Branson 4
she's actually not a deist. at first glance i thought so but when i read what she said she's clearly a theist. she believes in a personal god that intervenes ("to make her accountable" and she prays to it) not just a higher power. she's just doesn't want to call it christianity but it's basically the same thing. I suppose. The only difference is she doesn't specifically say she believes in Christ, but I understand what you're saying. Her and I seem very similar then, tbh. I guess I classify as a theist because I believe in God and don't think God created and then abandoned the Earth like many deist do. I suppose i'm more of a Theist. garnite 8
Religions have been here for centuries, better yet millenia and are here to stay. There are even scientists that will go as far to claim there is a "God gene". you don't seem to know what the god gene would refer to. that's almost like those who thought the "god particle" being found was proof of god's existence. I suppose. The only difference is she doesn't specifically say she believes in Christ, but I understand what you're saying. Her and I seem very similar then, tbh. I guess I classify as a theist because I believe in God and don't think God created and then abandoned the Earth like many deist do. I suppose i'm more of a Theist. that's interesting, so if you don't believe in any of the monotheistic religions but simply a god that is personally interested in you where did you get that idea? i mean, how is this evident to you? Cameron Dallas 11
So many members here have some unnatural dislike towards Katy. Yes she made a Gospel record. That was over 10 years ago. Excuse her for changing opinions as she matures and changes.
