Interesting, but in terms of music video inspiration, the only one available is bad romance, and it's more likely the idea was formed from br, a much more well known source than this movie

It's a very well known movie, but if you insist

I've never heard of it, but honestly I do find the concept more interesting now and thanks for pouting out the original source to me!

Wow so good :omg: Katy further cementing herself as having the best music videos. I love love love the slow motion and imagery. Makes me like the song even more!

She looks nice, the video is visually captivating, and I like the fire and underwater shots. I think the song is OK and kind of boring at times but the video is really nice :)

Queen of US album sales! :derpga:

I thought the filtering added a nice hue to the coloring...other than that I wasn't impressed.  Her most boring music video to date tbh.  But the colors were nice.

This is one of her best videos behind Wide Awake.

She looks incredibly beautiful and i want to **** her :creepflop:

the song is still kinda boring. but the cinematography was beautiful. it was very very well directed.

I'm kind of surprised to see Lady Gaga fans admiring this video for being pretty   I mean, it's visually beautiful, yes, a lot!. But that's it. It's incredibly boring, has absolutely no storyline, some stuff is there for nothing but for the sake of looking good.

It reminded me of Anastasia Romanova and the Royal Family at first (with the party and the family in the palace and the Winter), but it didn't really go there. It went nowhere.

Let's not say a video is meaningless just because you choose to not a--lyze it.  The director of the video is just more subtle than Gaga.

For example: The flames could symbolize her passion for her lover.  Flowers are apart of nature, which are viewed as holy or divine.  Water could also symbolize rebirth.  Perhaps the video is trying to point out how true love can transform us and make us closer to heaven or the creator.  However, she still died at the end, even though she was full of love and every lavish expense possible.

That's not to suggest everything in a pop video is symbolic, but there is reason to suspect that certain aspects of it are.
