The Do What U Want Effect?

There's been 80s and 90s throwback tracks for years bud... This isn't a new trend?

But once again, I am talking about DWUW's specific synth. Not an overall 80s sound of a song.

So you're claiming multiple songs copied the synth (I'm assuming you're reffering to the one in the bridge, as it's the most obvious) despite various artists and even Gaga herself using similar ones years before? The Fame Monster has various similar synths if you take a listen to the stems and so does Born This Way if you find some decent filters.

Except I am not claiming that they copied Gaga. Just that their is a possibility of a trend being set by DWUW.

But this isn't a new trend? Loads of artists (even Gaga herself) have used extremely similar synths years before?

Wrong. I said that both songs started minor trends. But Katy did not an overall impact like Gaga with a true overall sound (not just minor things like structure or a synth).

Have you been listening to the radio recently. There are at least 5 songs with a DWUW type of synth. That is what I call a trend. An yes, Gaga has had similar sounding synths before and maybe some other artists, but they don't sound quiet the same as the one I am hearing on radio.

:toofunny:

I don't disagree that it had a trendy structure. What I disagree in, is that she had a big impact like Gaga did with making electronic music as a whole, popular.

Not a contradiction because back then I was talking about big impact, in this case I am talking about a possible small trend.
