ARTPOPchamp 292 Posted June 6, 2015 Share Posted June 6, 2015 I hope it works to Lady Gaga's advantage, so that if the two release music around the same time, it won't become Lady Gaga vs. Katy Perry on the charts, but I feel it could also be a bad thing for Gaga because if katy releases new music around the time Gaga does, people won't focus on Gaga's music but rather the possible taylor bashing lyrics in Katy's songs. Iwontell 7,312 Posted June 6, 2015 Share Posted June 6, 2015 It's irrelevant to me, tbh...I think the Gaga X Katy thing is over and Katy has won in the eyes of the media and of a big part of the audience...unless they both put albums out kind of simultaneously again, things will remain as they are and they're no longer each other antagonists...I'm neither for or against Katy, tbh, and I think more and more Gaga fans are going to feel the same way, eventually (remember Gaga X Britney 2011? Look at how we are now). So, no, Taylor's current dominance while feuding with Katy doesn't make me glad in that way. I'm glad for Taylor, yes, bc, even if I'm not really into her songs, she seems like a nice/humble girl who has worked hard to get to where she is...and a female popstar ruling the charts makes it more acceptable for ppl to consume pop music in general, which I believe benefits all pop singers and keep the genre from fading away... Prism would have to average over 40,000 copies sold every week for the next three years to catch up to Speak Now...that's not going to happen! Prism has absolutely no chance of ever catching up to 1989, as 1989 has already more than doubled Prism's number...and 1989 is still selling strong.
