Before the comments about transphobia and such: they do have a point. Transgenders have an unfair advantage, because they're closer to men (on the inside), and men are naturally better in sports. I don't think that her gold medals should be taken, but consider that a transgender pre-transition female->male has an advantage over 'normal' females.

No, they don't. A woman that identifies as a man is still female, physically speaking. That advantage would be no different than between two boys: one who enjoys sports and one who does not.

Plus, if you were to consider that an advantage, what could be said about those with simply better genes for physical activities? A taller man clearly has an advantage over a shorter one in sports such as basketball.

Does the Olympic committee determine who is Male and who is Female by biological s-x or gender identity though?

That's what it'll come down to, which they'll most likely side on 'biological s-x'.

From what I can find on google, since Athens;

"The policy has three main requirements for both MTF and FTM trans athletes:

They must have had gender reassignment surgery
They must have legal recognition of their assigned gender
They must have at least two years of hormone therapy"

for an athlete to compete as their gender identity. They can't retrospectively apply the rule I guess but there's nothing to suggest that she could have competed as female even if she wanted to.

There's a difference between s-x and gender and her s-x was male but now it's female. Her gender was always female.

Exactly. Jenner did not meet any of those requirements to be considered a woman by their standards.

Yeah. But I remember reading that a small part of the brain of a transgender is of the opposite s-x' (in size). I'm sure there's more like these. There's something that causes one to feel like the opposite s-x, and it could be seen as an advantage (do FtM pre-transition have larger testosterone levels than others by the way?).

I'm not sure about the testosterone levels. But if true, it would be no different than the thousands of genetic variables in the human body.

I'm actually cackling at the stupidity and how they tried to phrase their foolishness so pleasantly :rip:

Bruce Jenner competed as a man, in the men's category, so their claim makes no sense :smh: Now if he'd crossdressed as a woman and competed in the women's category or something, then this would begin to make a bit of sense.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
