Jjang 2,262
What's VOGUE? Just look at Gaga's early Fame days performances, some of her outfits, the imagery in the Alejandro video & Dance In The Dark's bridge. I bet you'll notice the Vogue resemblance & references. VforVendetta 2,024
Only on GGD Most people here don't even know Vogue tbh, everybody knows Thriller and Bad Romance. Actually I think that Like A Prayer is far more Iconic.

You're basing your statement on mere personal experiences, which is irrelevant. -With the release of the video, Madonna brought the underground "vogueing" into the mainstream culture. A dancing pattern that is still being religiously used in the mainstream eye till today. Therefor, Vogue is not just a hit, but a cultural phenomenon. -The song is also noted for bringing house music into mainstream popular music, as well as for reviving disco music after over a decade of its commercial death. -The video was able to bend MTV's rules & was the first of its kind, and therefor made a lasting impact. -The song is still being sampled / covered in today's modern music. (Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, FKA Twigs, Rihanna...etc) and even Gaga borrowed some imagery and ideas from the video & song. (See Alejandro, mid 2009 fashion, Dance In The Dark, Fame Era performances). -Videos that have vogueing in them : If U Seek Amy (Britney), Video Phone (Gaga & B), Whip My Hair, Shawty Get Loose, Drop It Low, Kiss Kiss, Remember The Time (Michael Jackson), Get Me Bodied (Beyonce) and many more... -Vogue is an anthem of glamour -#1 in over 30 countries & the biggest song of 1990. *Looks up Bad Romance's legacy...*

Ask people on the Stereet about a famous Madonna video. Most of the oldest people will mention LAP and most of the youngest people will probably mention Hung Up. I personally agree that it has a lot of influence in Pop culture (including Alejandro, I disagree about the performances) but imo it doesn't have that much impact on the public in general. Its not up to you to agree / disagree on the performances, Gaga included Vogue elements in her early days performances. Its a fact.Vogue made an entire modern dance genre mainstream, a stylized dance that is still being practiced worldwide (not only in the gay community, that was the whole point). Its as big as MJ's moonwalk. How is Bad Romance's "impact" is of any match to Vogue's? what "cultural impact" has Bad Romance had? merely nothing.
