Being a transphobic ass isn't going to get you enough attention to fix this mess.

You can't even say his opinion is his 2 cents because he's 600k under :rip:

wtf is that legit?

I think that everyone in Gagadaily can express their opinions on these kinds of comments :lolly: It would be stupid to just be silent when people (like Drake Bell) are in your opinion being ignorant.

Her mother still calls her Bruce, is she transphobic as well?

It's most probably just a matter of adjustment and sudden change (even though she existed since who knows how many years ago) and has nothing to do with hate towards a transgendered individual.

Is Drake Bell her mother? Family members take time getting used to and probably do it even by accident, but Drake Bell is nothing to Caitlyn so if he cares enough to tweet about it he shouldn't be a jerk.

If he changed his name to Alejandro and kept living as a man, I bet much more people would address him using his birth name. What phobia would that be?

If Kanye wanted to be called and changed his name to Roberto, I'd probably still call him Kanye for ages, it's simple as that imo

That wouldn't be any phobia, just rude because if someone doesn't like their name why can't they change it? :saladga: I don't think your post is even on topic

Try to ignore him. If you want to make a difference, then share your support for Caitlyn through social media. I think that would be more worthwhile than wasting energy on telling an ignorant guy that he is ignorant.

Every day thousands of people die because of wars and lack of food etc. and THIS is what you argue about? This is what you consider being worth of your time and energy? It's just a stupid comment. You just give him more and more attention with every single post/comment you add to this thread. Some of you should go outside and meet some real problems of the world.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

Again, point missed. I'm not talking about the context or significance of that guy's comments, I'm talking about the fact that you have no right to harass people just because they are ignorant. Not only that, but such behavior only generates more hate and makes ignorant people even more ignorant. Social justice warriors are not helping fight transphobia, they are only making it worse.

I agree that the aggressive method used by some people doesn't help the situation or their cause and can make matters worse because they just drive the ignorant people away from enlightenment, like fighting fire with fire just makes a mess and nobody may out of it any better really :ohno: However, I think the extremist SJW are helping in a way as well because at the root of their attacks they have a point and it generates attention so if people look past the messy attitude they'll see that there's a good point there  It's not the best method at all for achieving what they want, but it's better than nothing at all. It's 2 steps forward and 1 step back really :emma:

Yeah I kinda agree that Drake's tweet may be more rooted in disrespect and ignorance than actual transphobia. The plain disregard for how someone else identifies is cringe worthy really, but I guess he and others just don't understand how serious of an issue it is to some :duck:

If it was a simple name change then yeah I think it'd be way more reasonable, but it's way more than just a name change in this case :omg: Some just don't see the importance in this name change I guess, which they really should :noparty:

"For some reason"

Spot on. Why are these people using their platform to comment on something like this with their you-have-to-be-aware-it's-hideous opinion omg.

Well he's stating his opinion

Yeah, let's all express our "opinions" on prejudice and bigotry. Fool.

the tweet can be interpreted as "I will only respect and remember you for what you did in the 70s/80s"

don't be ridiculous. we all know how this could be taken the wrong way and how insulting it could sound to trans people. all you do is putting someone else down when everyone needs to express something different (even if they didn't quite put it the right way). he might as well actually support Jenner's decision. going public one must expect different reactions... and isn't this why Caitlyn is a bold statement in the first place? and here's this one guy who had to delete his reaction to not look like the jerk he is aware social warriors will make him out to be. he tried and moved on. whatever.

they don't know the popular "serious" issues on the (gay) internet aren't among the truly important ones in the real world so shhh act outraged, this is getting somewhere, supposedly.
I mean, everyone will have heard of him.

it's the real deal revolution right now. keyboards and all.

I'm not. People on the Internet are just looking for a reason to label somebody a transphobe / homophobe / racist / s-xist and then bully them for it.

I agree that sometimes people call other "...phobe" for no reason, but this is very direct and clear. If somebody indetifies as woman yours is to accept it no matter what his past was
