Why did you choose to stan for Gaga as opposed to another artist?

I hated Rihanna don't ask why, Gwen and Fergie were on/still on hiatus. Beyoncé wasn't my cup of tea so I never listened to her (then I listened to I Am...Sasha Fierce and it got me). So literally I only had Britney whom I stanned for during the Circus Era before that I was busy stanning for Disney channel (Miley demi selena) lol. Sadly I stanned for Britney at a time she lost the artist in her , I believe Britney was  the best pop star of all time up to her fourth album (In The Zone). Christina as much as I loved her bored me for some reason but that later changed. Yes Taylor was around but she was country I liked her but her genre was so not me also Madonna was too old for me , I don't wanna stan for a grandma tbh and her attitude also was a turn off. Finally you had P!NK who is still underrated in my opinion perhaps the most solid artist from beginning to end, always delivered in music, performances, videos, lyrics and extra. But I couldn't relate to her so I was envy of her fans. Then comes Gaga whom I don't know of till the Love Game Era and I was like she's the one as soon as I saw Love Game's video which was the first time I hear and see her. Let me tell you the feeling was beyond amazing I could relate to her in every aspect. Never have I bought a physical copy before The Fame , I would always download stuff and burn them on a CD. After came Kesha whom I love so much and stan for during her eras , have Kesha came first I would not be here. So for me personally there aren't many artist I cling to in a 360 degree way I guess that answers it.

I guess her connection to her fans encourage me to like her the most. I like how her fans inspire her music and how she listens to what type of music we want from her. I don't think I've ever seen an artist who is so close to their fans and cares about them so deeply. It always brings a tear to my eye when I hear her talk about how when we think no one is listening, she always listening to us and that when we are lonely, she wlll be lonely too. It's stuff like that that connects you to your faves. And she seems the most genuine of them.

Originally it was because I randomly stumbled across a video of her performing, thought she was pretty interesting so I followed her on Twitter and she followed me right back (She only had a few thousand followers at that time)

She continued to release music and kept me coming back for more. I was pretty much a concrete stan by The Fame Monster and then when Born This Way came out, I became obsessed.

ARTPOP knocked my obsession with her but I still love her and will continue to support her, even if I don't like what she releases as Born This Way remains my favourite album by any artist and it was also really great to watch her explode like she did.

I think I just find her more interesting than a lot of others. I think it's also because I am attracted to her extreme weirdness :derpga:

She has it all. That's why. And even though I'm a b---h (I'm not as kind as her) and I'm fond of more minimalist stuff instead of exaggerated ones, I love her style, the intertextuality in it, the meaning behind her fashion choices or simply her "moves of passion". She's a perfectionist and you can notice it when you watch one of her videos. I don't care what other people have to say I DO think she's genuine, authentic, more creative than her influences (just look at GUY she made a video with a fantastic message for a song about being a bottom yet the connection makes sense). Sometimes I feel as if everyone's going to attack me in this forum if I put her above other female singers but I'll still do it since this is a forum dedicated to her and other popstar stans should deal with my opinion, cue unapologetic b---h, or whatever. And by "she has it all" I mean: she's a lovely, altruist human being, a great dancer, singer, producer, writer, performer, piano player and a large etc :sara:

At the end of the day I became a fan because of the MUSIC. I really didn't care for her, her fashion, or any other aspect of her life. I just thought her music was some of the most catchy and intelligent pop music in the game,

I remember first hearing Just Dance on the radio and thinking "Oh this is a bit different... reminds me of 80s synth pop" but never really gave it much of a chance until I saw the video. I knew I loved her from then, I could tell she was a breathe of fresh air in the music industry and I knew big things were gonna come from her. After that, I watched the Brit Awards early 2009 when she performed with the Pet Shop Boys and Brandon Flowers. I don't know what it was but I just knew she was going to be huge... she was so eccentric and amazing talented, and she's come on leaps and bounds to who she is now.

She is multifaceted and talented in ways that (most of) her peers simply are not. Or, to put it another way, she has more useful qualities in her arsenal. This becomes more and more obvious with each passing year and era.

She has the songwriting skills, authentic intrigue, exquisite vocals, and disciplined, polished stage presence that escape her direct competition.

I chose Lady Gaga because she is talented in every way possible. She is good at almost everything. She is inspiring, and she knows how to make people feel special. She can relate to me, and I can relate to her. And I have had an amazing connection to her since 2009 for this reason. I know I could never love someone (whether it be a celebrity or not) in the way that I love her because it's something different and magical. I am just very happy I found it. It's a good feeling.:kissga:

Mindfulness.

Gaga is very self-aware and her work has profound depth because of it.

She has a valuable message behind it all, and I love trying to decipher it.

In the start she was simply my favourite musician. I was very young, and my favourite artists were Gaga, Katy, Rihanma and Eminem. The Bad Romance and Paparazzi video fascinated me. Born This Way was amazing and I watched as many performances as possible. I really enjoyed it. During the Born This Way Ball era I got obsessed with her, and I would watch almost all videos of her on tour.

I remember how I bumped into her; it was 2009 and it was around the time the DJ Earwoem released his "blame it on the pop" mega-mashup of the pop songs of the time. As I was watching the compilated music video, I saw bits of poker face in it (of courseI didnt know at that time; I wasnt into pop at all. For me, Shakira, Lady gaga, rihanna and whoever else were essentially all the same). But Gaga's appearance caught my attention from the bits of Poker Face that I saw. So I found out that the person in the straihgt long blond wig is lady gaga...and the first ever music video of her that I watched was Bad Romance. It is therefore understandable how I became a fan. Very, very quickly.
Ever since then I am truly attached to her as a musician and artist like I've never thought possible.

I guess by OP's definition of "stanning" I don't stan for anyone. My life doesn't revolve around any celebrity.

Using my definition of "stanning"*, I stan for multiple people, and Gaga's not even my #1. She's my fourth. She follows Tori Amos (#1), Björk (#2), and Madonna (#3). I'm on a Gaga forum because I prefer Gaga fans over any other fanbase.

As for the reason why I stan for Gaga, I strongly believe she's the best pop musician of the Millennial era. She has great pop songs, an iconic style, and a powerful voice. She's also a very kind person, even if she does things I don't stand by.

*I consider "stanning" the amount of passion and/or love you have towards a celebrity/creator/performer/etc. and/or their work.

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.
