Wet Fire 8,370
(Source: THE TIMES OF INDIA) On June 9, the country - if not the world - will get its first transgender college principal when Manabi Bandopadhyay takes charge of Krishnagar Women's College. The 50-year-old academician was also supported by state education Minister, the vice-chancellor of Kalyani University to which Krishnagar Women's College is affiliated, assistant professors, her colleagues, students and her adopted son. Manabi sais she had applied for the post under 'female' category. "But when I went for the interview, it was changed to transgender." she recalls. It isn't a 'reserved' post and she had to compete with other candidates for it. Dear, GGD members, this is a huge thing for India, because you all know how the LGBT community is deprived of rights in India. And I'm so proud that the first transgender college principal belongs to our state. This is a new wave of change in India's society.

Wet Fire 8,370
And this is really surprising because to a great extend, Indians, especially men are transphobic. This proves that people are becoming more accepting!
