Now, several people including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, have come forward to defend Josh amid the growing controversy, as TLC has pulled the popular reality series from its lineup in the wake of Josh's admission.One of the first public figures to come forward and offer support and a defense of Josh was Huckabee, a presidential candidate for 2016, who said that he and his wife, Janet, "want to affirm our support for the Duggar family." "Josh's actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn't mean 'unforgivable.' He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. he continued: "No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story. Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things. No one needs to defend Josh's actions as a teenager, but the fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is treatment to his family's authenticity and humility," Huckabee wrote on his Facebook page. This is not the first time Huckabee has defended a s-x offender. Luiz 4,253 Posted May 27, 2015 Share Posted May 27, 2015 idk about the second s-x offender he defended but i'd be willing to forgive the duggar fella as well. wasnt he like 14 and it was like over a decade ago? i wouldnt be too hard on him either because the person you are at 14 is nowhere near the person you are at 24. i was going to post this without this disclaimer but just in case: not defending what the guy did but i'm ok with forgiving him I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.
