What You Thought ARTPOP Would Be Like

Like what I heard and saw from the Loo-Loo London iTunes Festival.  I know it was not her fault but if she got the upper hand to make ARTPOP's sound more like that, it would've slayed my mother's ass

Pretty much this. I thought it would be continuos without any breaks. When she announced the change of Venus as a single, I knew the era was going to collapse.

So in what order would you have preferred the singles to be?  Do you have something in mind?  If so, do share with the rest of us, please.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

I thought there would be more songs like Aura, Stache, Venus, and ARTPOP sonically :emma:

I was entirely on board when I heard Applause though tbh. It seemed a bit underwhelming artistically, but the video slayed and Venus would have been my favorite video ever,

Visually, more colorful I guess? Also stuff like the ARTPOP mask, the paint for Applause, etc. etc.

I was still happy with the album though. Tbh, the visuals were decent and i loved most all of the album itself. I was mostly upset at the lack of the app expanding (esp. the music player expansion, instrumentals, access to demos and unreleased songs written and discussed during the ARTPOP era like TEA, Ratchet, etc.,) and videos for each song (Venus  R.I.P.) would have slayed my existence even more

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

I didn't know what to expect at all, but I knew it was going to be more commercial than Born This Way so my expectations were kind of met.

I though it was going to be intense electronic instrumentals with loud altered vocals. Like Stache!!! That got me so exited! I also died over aura because that what I really wanted from her!

I had no idea tbh. The risk of a title like ARTPOP is that it basically provokes people to instantly have a notion of what it will sound like. And, because we are not Gaga, our idea of ARTPOP will inevitably be very different.

But when Swinefest rolled around, hearing material like "Swine" and "Sex Dreams" and "MANiCURE" for the first time, I said to the people watching with me, no one does pop music like Gaga.

No, I had no problem with the singles that were chosen. It's just when a single is planned (like Venus) and is changed last minute, it indicates something is wrong, which it was. I'm not saying DWUW was a bad single, just that the change seemed strange and indicated a step in the wrong direction.

Yeah, I've always wondered why they decided to change the singe at the last minute.  I have a feeling Interscope got greedy when they realized the appeal DWUW was having and thought they'd be able to profit more from DWUW than from Venus.  :fail:

I deff. expected it to be very artsy and all the electronic music, but I expected it to all be a bit darker and more sinister in a way, because Gaga had said she was digging really deep inside and dragging out all the pain, but I love that she was able to transform it into something so upbeat and colourful and bright. I also quite like that the album was much more colourful than all the previous ones, it was really kinda explosive. It wasn't quite what I expected but it was SO MUCH better. :Jase::Jase::Jase:

I guess I was envisioning something kind of like the title track but even more mellow/hypnotic. Something synth/electronic with those exact kind of vocals but overall more minimal and darker (maybe even a little abstract). I thought the whole album would elaborate on that kind of aesthetic but ultimately what we got was an album that was vying for radio plays that it ultimately didn't get past the lead single. I like it nevertheless.

Honestly.. I thought it would be dirty, heavy EDM music. I expected more songs like (Gaga's version) Stache.
