Serendipity 7,821
Commercial success doesn't necessarily depend on the quality of the song. Reminder that Harlem Shake went to #1. Also by today's standards a #6 peak would be considered a flop The things that matter the most are exposure (promo/hype whatever), a catchy hook, a pretty face and no negative backlash. Even Gangnam Style went #1 in many countries around the world and that was definitely not a good song See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK
Supersonic 49,376
Even Gangnam Style went #1 in many countries around the world and that was definitely not a good song Just what I said. Quality does not equate success. I mean Marry The Night, arguably the best song of Born This Way, peaked at #27.
SlaeUrAnus 15,955
When are Gaga's songs radio friendly When Just Dance and Pokerface were smashing there was literally RnB everywhere There are plenty of radio friendly Gaga songs. Just Dance and Poker Face were smashing because Gaga was the 'it' girl back then. Everyone wanted to listen to her In my messy era.

Creyk 17,805
Lol you guys really underestimate her power just because she had an underperforming era that still did well I think a lot of the underestimating doesn't happen because of the AP era, but because of her general attitude towards making music

JDi 1,495
Not when you get oneDo you seriously think she's a D-lister who can't even chart a top ten anymoreARTPOP could've snatched the 5#1s record if the promo was on spot and the era was done nicelyno I do not seriously think that and I think it's as cheap as it is hard and isn't anywhere as great as it used to be and Gaga getting a number one sounds boring because her career has been more eventful than Katy's which goes like number one songs/ marriage/ break up song/ number one song/ number one song/ absence/ number one song/ dating someone/ a dark number one song/ superbowl non event/ absence/ getting herself pumped to shoot straight to the top of that great big chart. following her must feel like facebook every once in a while, so of course you need number ones to feel good about being a fan and then Gaga might seem to you like she also needs one to reclaim her place but truth is Gaga's got her own big fat place in the game and Katy doesn't which is why she needs to keep it up and Gaga doesn't.there is no flamebait so don't try act incomprehensive. I am saying that Katy's career is less eventful than Gaga's (in my eyes) and that Gaga doesn't need to keep "smashing" because she's penetrated deeper into the music industry.
