In your Mom's case I think it's healthy because, thinking like a Mom, I guess she is worried that you might become too obsessed with Gagz so she is trying to prevent this by pointing out possible flaws (on her perspective) so she can influence you to the "normal" side a little bit...I'm not sure this makes a lot of sense to you but It's my best explanation for this "habit". I figured this out because my Mom used to do the same thing. So now I avoid talking about Gaga near ha. but any other person besides my family? I mean when I first started to like her a few years ago there were a few times that my brother has said things that got me pissed, he is 5 years older than me. He got mad when Judas was on in the car so of course I explained it, he doesn't really do it anymore though, I mean a few weeks ago he said something but I'm sure he was just being a brother and just saying it to get me pissed off at him. My mom gained respect for her after I showed her some classy live performances. My dad's not a fan but he's not an active hater either. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. My mother isn't very keen on the fact that she's my favorite artist. She doesn't seem to have a negative opinion on Gaga (she's actually likes her C2C stuff, she even showed interest in going to one of the concerts), but it bugs me that sometimes she's like "Don't you like any male bands?" Some of the things she says (hopefully jokingly) are about how Gaga's one of the descendants of the Illuminati, the belief in the Lina Morgana situation, that Gaga's actually got a penis, etc Lol I never expected this. It's so not Haroon. OT: My brother jokingly insults Gaga all the time but he acknowledges her status and the respect people have for her in the music industry. He's also aware that she's one of the very few contemporary artists that write and producer her own music, directs her own videos etc. He however thinks that weird outfits and the weird things she does are extremely unnecessary and sick.
