Pop music does not have to be this way

I like music mostly because of the sound , not the lyrics so even if she writes a poem song or a repetitive one...of the sound is catchy for me , I'll like it either way... That's just me

i just wish the word Baby wasnt so overused in her songs or all pop songs for that matter. its like just a filler word to throw in when you get lazy :laughga:

agree with OP though, it would be nice to see something like this from gaga but i dont expect it any time soon

The word ''baby" is very overused, there is even a song called "Baby"

wow.

for starters this at the OP isn't even music tbh. It's at most rap which is spoken words over a repeated beat.

and even Donatella has better lyrics than this self-pity mess. sorry.

i mean if our civilization just fell apart from some nuclear disaster or something, in 1000 years later when they find the lyrics to these songs and decypher it into their language they will think we were a culture of rampant pedophilia :duck:

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

I'm not calling it music. If you'd get your head out of your ass, you'd understand art like this.

Sorry I had to be rude.

I'm just wanting gaga to follow through on that particular trend. Instead of writing a song about being a power bottom, she could literally change up her game so drastically and release a song that will literally make you get goosebumps because it TOUCHES YOUR VERY SOUL. I heard that video above for the first time yesterday and I literally..it resonated so hardcore with me. Don't you want gaga music that makes you get goosebumps because it's so well written and complex?

I don't think you are realizing that not everyone NEEDS such deep [sic] lyrics to feel what you are feeling :emma:

Poetic verses and syntax and vague extended metaphors exist in pop music already :smh: My point in that post was that its already happening so I don't see the need for this overdramatic thread's title. Also, we dont NEED someone like Gaga to write lyrics like these. Part of what makes the Top 40 so accessible is because their lyrics are accessible and generalized so that people can more easily relate and see themselves in the song, but there are still songs in the Top 40 of Pop that have lyrics like these from time to time. Like, its not even a problem and this is just your opinion as well :emma: So no, i don't want gaga to make music like this, in fact I don't always consider this well written at all, thats also a matter of opinion and there is nothing more noble or "just" about writing in metaphor and poetry; its a matter of style and preference, not writing with a style in mind just to "be better" than your peers. Florence from Florence + the Machine has kind of poetic lyrics and she uses themes and metaphors all the time in her music, but I don't NEED that for music to "touch my soul" in fact I don't need lyrics at all to do that    I think just realize that people have different taste than you tbh

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

You have to remember that people have very different perceptions of music and art. The very essence of pop music can be found it it's name: it stems in popular music. It's the type of music that resonates with the masses. What you posted surely has impact on a lot of people, but it's not a type of art that translates well onto radio. Besides, mainstream music isn't really the place for giant soulchanging messages, because mainstream music is usually something that people listen to on-the-go, so they don't really register messages like that. They just hear noises that sound either happy, sad, angry, etc.

Long story short; pop music needs to be produced in bite-sized pieces, because complex messages go over people's heads nine times out of ten. Gaga tries to find a happy medium, and does a pretty good job at that.

wow, rude is an understament.

yeah, sure I don't understand it. totally. :nails:

maybe it's because I find it too cliché and obvious. to me there's not much originality in it. and I'm not sorry for my opinion.

Whereas in Gaga's lyrics a lot of what's quickly labeled or perceived as "shallow and disposable" has a deeper meaning that not everybody has the ability to grasp. that's what ART is.

Lol and self pity? Lol. HAHAHAHAHA. self pity...it's the opposite of self pity

self-praise?...wtv it's the same imo.

she could also step it up a notch and do something along these lines.

relatable but deep lyrics (not about s-x or partying) and a KILLER beat

thank you. like...i dont understand why im getting hate for wanting Gaga to BRING IT with this next album. I feel like...in order for her to really be taken seriously as a pop legend, she should write about more complex things. things that are not s-x, partying or d--gs. AT LEAST one song about real sh1t

dope was awesome though.
