Quartz 12,536
As long as she manages to make music that makes me think, makes me feel stuff or just plain gives me goosebumps, I'm not complaining (e.g. So Happy I Could Die, Bloody Mary, Born This Way, etc.) Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊
MikeGoneGaga 86
Can we speak about Donatella? Leave Donatella alone...the amount of dancing I have done to that song. It has such great energy. i don't think anyone here fell in love with gaga's lyrics. it's her voice and the amazing production she always delivers. BUT that doesn't mean her lyrics aren't good, on the contrary they're quite interesting and compelling most of the time and that only adds to her whole artistry. don't fix something if it ain't broken I agree. She goes for the storytelling and effect over the metaphor sometimes, which I like...because you can feel like a plastic bag or "But then I trip over myself and I fall. I, I stand up, and then I'm okay." Not saying that one is better than the other. I just like that she opts for the story with references to things instead of fixating on the thing. I sort of agree. One of ARTPOP's biggest issues with me were the lyrics. I mean you can write about relatable experiences without it being "basic" it's all in how you do it. Or even if they're not relatable you can still write them in a way that interests people. I find about 80% of her lyrics relatable...or have watched enough movies/read things to find those references in there that make them clever. So What are you talking about? gaga just writes lyrics that make no ****ing sense and thats my problem with her. "Skeleton guns or wedding bells in the attic" like what... she writes a bunch of dumb ass words in a sentence that sound good together and calls it a bop. thats why her songs flop.. like Applause for example (i stand here waiting for you to bang the gong.) applause has alot of dumb ass lyrics tbh but its stil my fave song tbqh references...these are references. Sidenote: people tend to have shotgun weddings, have skeletons in the attic (closet)...also it's skeleton guns are wedding bells in the attic...seems like you are just putting a bunch of words in a sentence... Also, her songs flop because people like to hunt for the negatives in her work and focus only on them... Listen this to understand why she writes the way she does

Bellatrix 34,811
like why are we having argumentsARTPOP is not relatable i thought we knew this Did we?Stop saying it's not relatable like it was a fact. Just because you can't relate to ARTPOP doesn't mean no one can't. Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
gagzus 16,046
ARTPOP is her most relatable album to me I can relate to EVERY SINGLE SONG bc it's subjective and I think about her songs differently; for example Scheiße is my fave song by her but instead of it being feminism to me it's about being strong for yourself without the need of other people to make you feel valued. Which is still something I struggle with
gagaohlala 810
Her lyrics are fine. Easy to comprehend with complex metaphors, grammar and vocabulary at times. She doesn't need to write silly love songs so the general public is able to relate to her and teenagers make kitschy Windows Movie Maker collages to her songs with dolphins and Comic Sans text.Exactly. I'm a man, and I don't see Sheisse as a feminist song, but a song about being strong without anybody. I think the thing is to relate to a side of the lyrics, or a side of the message according to your personnal life. It's why Gaga don't like to explain her lyrics or video, she said it, she prefers you to interpret it with your personnal life. The perfectexemple is the song ARTPOP : it's a poetry. You have to interpret it. Little Monster | Diamond | Cry Baby | Lana Del Rey

moonboywow 3,136
I'm just confused as to why you are comparing Gaga lyrics to Twenty One Pilots'1. totally different audience2. totally different musical styles3. totally different motive for making music4. totally different inspiration I'm not ****ing comparing them. I used them as an example. Tyler joseph literally uses words like suicide in his songs. I want gaga to be that honest. It doesn't have to be in that exact way. But princess die, dope and swine are so ****ing raw and brilliant and honest. Why can't she do that kind of thing just for one album? She's been honest and stripped herself down emotionally before. So why not again
Redstreak 6,653
I find about 80% of her lyrics relatable...or have watched enough movies/read things to find those references in there that make them clever. So What are you talking about? That majority of ARTPOP wasn't generally relatable, and that while that's not a requirement, her lyrics this time around just weren't that great. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
gagaohlala 810
You all seem to find ARTPOP not relatable, and I dob't agree. Each one can find a relatable side in a lot of songs. An exemple (it's my personal life and interpretationinterpretation of course) : Aura - Don't you have some complexes ? Lile with your body ? Gaga to, but she shows that you have to not give a **** and feeling good in your own real body. Venus - Don't you have some problem with love ? Or aren't you in love with someone ? GUY - If you have some problem, particularly in love, you don't need some one to feel good, you worth it and you atrare strong enough to face that. Sexxx Dreams - ... Okay... No one wake up with some memories about s-x dreams ? ... You liar Jewels N d--gs - *skip* MANiCURE - Failed Love story, okay, but you have to stay positiv, strong. You have to remeber that it's a temporal feeling to feel alone after a rupture for exemple. Dwuw - Don't give a **** about what people say about you, just give your heart to the ppl you truely love. ARTPOP - Always see the bright side, be flexible, be open minded even if you're in trouble cause it's up to you feel good and resist all your life problems. Be a hybrid. Swine - We all have a Swine in our lives ! Fight that stupid person who makes you feeling down Donatella - Okay ... Just eat a salad and all we'll be alright ! Mary Jane holland - No one here smoke weed and just want to have a good timr and forget problems ? ... I see you again little liars Dope - I don't have to explain Gypsy - When you feel alone, you will not be forever like that. Applause - ok harder I'm maybe reaching but that's an exemple. In my life, I find some ARTPOP song relatable ! Little Monster | Diamond | Cry Baby | Lana Del Rey

Can she write about something else please?Gaga does and tbh, most people do. I mean, it's completely fine that you are as-xual...but surely you don't expect Gaga to be the same.Gaga has had s-xual songs since her very first album. Why are you expecting her to produce a completely as-xual album all of a sudden?

Why are you expecting her to produce a completely as-xual album all of a sudden? I'm not? Like she has tons of s-x songs. Why keep making more? There's only so many ways to write about s-x. There's so much she COULD write about.
