After all, we could be dealing with ISIS! Yes, let's stop fighting for equality because we, at least, don't have terrorists beheading us and throwing us off of buildings. Priorities, guys. They have very few viewers and they are a radical and extreme partisan outlet,” Cruz told a reporter. He cited the expansion of “mandatory same-s-x marriage” as an assault on religious liberty in the United States. And this priority argument is strange, and reeks of the starving kids in Africa argument; in that, since nothing we discuss (birth control, gay marriage, what have you) is as dire as these starving African kids, it doesn't matter and shouldn't be addressed. But then the next logical conclusion is funneling any and all aid to stop this hunger since it's apparently the biggest issue that HAS to be dealt with first. But will conservative super PACS, funneling money to candidates with aligning social/economic issues of the domestic U.S. sphere do that? Hmm. Not saying hunger isn't an issue, but it seems to be a convenient cop-out to not discuss an issue that affects Americans regardless of whether or not it's a "priority".
