Well, I didn't see her perform BDR at the Knitting Factory, unfortunately, but I was one of the lucky few Monsters, apart from the ones on the Lower East Side, to see her perform this song at Lollapalooza in August of 2007 in Chicago, as part of her Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue performance before she became famous! Gaga's performance was amazing! I didn't know who she was, of course, and the only songs that stuck with me were BDR, Dico Heaven, and Summerboy because I really enjoyed them at first listen. Most of the people there were quite receptive to her albeit a bit confused because of the whole performance art piece her and Starlight put on as part of their show. I remember we all looked at each other like "what is she doing, and who does this girl think she is?" when she and Starlight lit cans of hairspray on fire with a lighter. I remember wondering if I'd ever see her again cuz I really liked her music and then when I bought The Fame in 2008 I realized it was her when I heard BDR and Summerboy. I thought to myself, "yes!!
