​I see what you mean but I guess it comes down to how strictly you follow a religion, and it comes down to the individual whether they identify as being a Muslim or not despite breaking some rules. Plus it depends if you're a practicing or non-practicing Muslim too  I have friends who eat haram meat and still pray 5 times a day, some pick and choose which rules to follow I guess and disregard others
