Could venus have been a hit?

Gaga originally wanted venus to be the second single and I love it.
If we look at how it charted:

US 32

Australia 31

Austria 36

Canada 19

France 9

Germany 35

Italy 7
New Zealand 20

Switzerland 18

UK 76

Remember this is without being sent to radio or having a music video as well.
Do you think venus could have been a hit if it was given the proper release?

Nope. These positions are influenced by the album's pre orders.

No, you should be celebrating they changed it to DWUW tbh :miley:

It would be Gaga's American Oxygen :lolly:

Yes. The "Venus!" with the hands up V motion could have been iconic.

If it was the lead single, people would have went crazy over it due to hype

Then, she could have released Applause then DWUW and maybe GUY would have had a chance. Possibly, Gypsy, Sexxx Dreams or MANiCURE would have been singles if the era was more successful with those single releases I mentioned but what's passed is past :lana:

Why is everyone h8in on Venus? I think it would have been a hit, especially had it been released around Halloween (like the initial plan). It sounds like a classic Gaga smash but without trying to cling onto fleeting trends that sound dated immediately like trap/EDM. The chorus is freakin' legendary. Kids and teens would love the goofy lyrics, especially the bridge.

In fact, I played Venus on Halloween right after it came out for my friend who doesn't even like Lady Gaga. She thought it was such a jam that Venus was the only Gaga song she listened to for like a whole year, then she started listening to all of her music, and now she's a downright Monster  Venus wins over the cool party babes and club hipsters.

It would've pulled a BR

Gaga's favorite song, imagine what the video could've been like:legend:

She should've kept DWUW for spring/summer 2014 and released Venus anyways

Venus would've definitely gone top 5 with the YouTube awards performance
