Madonna dyes hair ombre pink with #BitchI'mMadonna hastag

She really doesn't get it. It doesn't matter what color she dyes her hair, what hashtags she overuses, or what current producer she co-opts to create her current sound. Nobody of the current generation takes her seriously because she continues to present herself as a tryhard embarrassment. Nobody can relate to her, nobody takes her seriously as a provocateur in the modern age, and nobody other than her fanbase thinks she has anything significant to say. It's no wonder Gaga has a problem connecting to the current public if we're to believe she's such a latch-on coattail rider like Madge's out-of-touch fanbase likes to believe.

True

This arguement about age is ridiculous. Barbra Steisand doesn't need to be edgy to sell albums and she is in her sixties. Then again when "trying to edgy" is your only talent (song writing too) people will criticize you for it when it fails. Just like people critize Mariah's voice. With C2C Gaga says I can be the Lady or the Gaga. She has the talent to let the edgy go and just shut the house down with her voice. Madonna needs to go the way of Cyndi Lauper.

No, it's not ridiculous. If you think Gaga will just drop her provocative fashion/performance thing because she's "too old", I am sure you'll be disappointed. And that was the only point I was trying to make. And why does everyone always bring up C2C in these disussions omg :wtf: Gaga's not even 30 yet, why would C2C be relevant for a discussion about what will happen later on in her career?

In any case: I think Madonna's a ****ing flop right now and she's a total disappointment when it comes to anything she does these years, but that does not mean that my point isn't valid: when Gaga's old and trying to stand out among the rest of the pop girls we'll see how the tables turn.

Barbra was edgy in some ways but it was never the true focus of her talent. Madonna is the Queen of Reinvention. In other words Queen of edginess. She has tried to stay two steps in front of every other pop diva. This time around she failed and has been critizied for it. Just like I said when people critizied Mariah for not having the same voice.  Also about Cyndi Lauper. Yes Cyndi's last album was Blue's that doesn't mean every Blue's singer is over 40, 50 or 60. That was kinda a silly remark considering RnB is sung by pretty much everyone. Jazz also has young singers. So you are displaying reverse ageism. You are placing an older age on a genre of music. Let me be more clear on my reference to Cyndi Lauper. She wrote all the music to The Broadway play Kinky Boots. She won a Grammy and the show was nominated for 13 Tonys. She won her Tony for Best Original Score the only woman to ever win it solo. The show plays on four different cities plus touring for 6 to seven days a week. She is doing just fine collecting her huge pay checks. I think Madonna can do the same and create something brilliant. That's just my opinion. If you want her to continue to make pop music until she dies that's your opinion.

:hunty:

"collecting her huge paychecks"?

This Madonna era might be a flop, but she's STILL one of the most successful acts, even today. Rebel Heart will probably reach the 1M mark with the tour, and even with the criticism (when wasn't she criticized?), it's still a great and brilliant album; just because it's a pop record doesn't mean it requires less "talent" or creativity, it's probably the other way around.

And I'm pretty sure that even if she decided to do something like "I'm breathless" or "Ray of Light"  there would still be people criticizing her for that.

Cyndi Lauper was signed to an indie record label that got her nowhere in 1977 onwards and until Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. She didn't make any public appearances or officially released anything, it was just her band & their unreleased music, very much like Gaga with Red & Blue or Katy with Katy Hudson. The artistic debut of Cyndi was in September 6th of 1983.

Regardless of that, Madonna was even signed before Cyndi to a french record label.

Try again.

Ooo! September 6th is my birthday!

I didn't know any of this stuff, so it's pretty interesting to learn.

Look at how Madonna putting pink in her hair is getting all of us to learn a thing or two about her career's creation. #TheImpact

On topic, though, you're all taking a hairstyle too seriously. Not everything Madonna does needs to be her "keeping up with the kids." She got pink in her hair- so what? The fact that you think everything she does needs to be a statement indicates you think Madonna is someone that makes statements with even her simplest actions.

I agree she's been trying WAY too hard this era and I find her to be cringeworthy, but y'all could stop being so bitter about someone you claim to not take seriously. If you're over Madonna, then get over her and don't turn her hair color into a 10+ page debate.

It could look really nice on camera  Although I'm not as excited by it as I should be because quite a few stars have had it before  At the end of the day it's just a hairstyle, I don't think it's worth putting so much importance on. I'm just hoping she does it justice while it lasts really :laughga:

Queen of reinvention =/= queen of edginess. These are two completely different things.

Madonna hasn't been criticized for her failed efforts but rather for her lack of efforts to offer something new and innovative like she often does. So if you're going to turn this into a Mariah comparison than its more like criticizing her for lip syncing. (I just followed your logic. However, i think the comparison you've made is silly).

Cyndi has built her own lane, while Madonna has her own. Both are being met with success in their own departments, Madonna is now planning a world tour that will most likely gross hundreds of millions, and when that's done she's going to direct a movie in 2016.

So what you're suggesting is that Madonna should start writing plays for broadway now? why? how does that make any sense in your head? why would Madonna, the queen of pop, suddenly boycott pop music and go incognito to start writing for plays? no sense, no logic.

I never displayed reverse ageism, i don't think music has an age at all. But some genres are perceived to be genres of age, just like pop is perceived to be for teenagers. My point is that music has no age & therefor, your suggestion came off as ageist.

Funny you'd mention huge pay checks, since Madonna will officially become a billionaire after the Rebel Heart tour.

Where did I say Gaga will do anything in her 50's or 60's? What you quoted was a reply to someone else. It works better if you read both comments. The only mention of C2C I said here was because she has the talent to be both edgy and a vocal powerhouse. Why are people even mentioning what Gaga will be doing in her 50's. No one can see the future.

update: don't know why this reply looks like this. I guess me iPhone is too sensitive.

Funny after every tour Madonna stans try to make her a Billionaire.

Her net worth is between $800-900m. She's already the richest musician ever. Its not delusional to assume that she will reach the billion mark during 2016.
