For me, the song has always had a comedic bent to it, it is the audio incarnation of a drunk phone call. There's a reason why the vocals, the production, etc., have a rompish, overheated feel to them, not to mention the whole "I can't believe I'm telling you this" bit. It's a funnier song than it's given credit for. In my opinion, the people who wanted more raw and s-xier vocals are kind of missing the point. It's refreshing to see that we can discuss them rationally without insulting and belittling one another. IMO, however, I love the studio version more than the iTunes festival version.
