Billboard labels Marry The Night as a 5th single that became a classic

Billboard has been floppy for like, 3 years now.

Also Thriller is a living pop culture icon and you were the one that compared it to MTN...

Please: basic reading comprehension. I said Thriller WAS considered a flop. As in past tense. As in in 31 years ago when it completed its chart run. Because it "only" peaked at #4 while his previous singles have peaked higher and been around longer. It still somehow became his signature song and went on to sell 4 million copies more in the years after. Jesus Christ, y'all don't wanna give Gaga anything.

i think its unfair to deny songs like mtn as a classic simply because it wasnt a huge hit. thats only the one-dimensional definition of a classic. to me, marry the night is one of those songs that is a classic in nature, just the feeling it inspires whenever i hear it, the passion, it always gets me in a fighter spirit which was what born this way was all about. it has a classic 80s disco sound, idk...it feels like a real classic to me. there's plenty of popular songs now that don't leave any mark on me and probably will be forgotten in the grand scheme of pop culture.

Very nicely put my dear!

Guys, did you know that any song that has been out for more than 4 years, I believe, can be considered a classic regardless of whether or not it was a smash?  I have a friend whose boyfriend is a DJ at a local radio station here in Chicago, and her DJ boyfriend told me that any song, regardless of its chart position, can be considered a classic.

Now, whether Little Monsters and the GP agree or not, MTN is a classic and a smash hit to me.  The song is AMAZING and one of Gaga's best!  And let's be honest, peaking at # 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 is not that terrible!  At least it was in the top 40 so it SHOULD NOT be considered a flop whatsoever!   :grr:

I think the problem stems from always expecting Gaga's songs to top the Hot 100 chart, no matter what.  Y'all have to realize that no artist can stay at number 1 all the time.  Everything that goes up, must come down - and that includes our Queen of Music Lady Gaga.  Nevertheless, MTN is a classic by music standards and a classic in Little Monsters' hearts.   :monsterpaw:    :gaga:

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

And I said get back to me when MTN is a pop culture phenomenon like Thriller is.

Just because two things were considered flops at one point doesn't mean they are both classics now.

Misleading. Billboard didn't label it a classic. They listened to the delusional monsters that tweeted then saying it was.
