Jed 7,716
I mean Britney these days is a different story completely, but Britney was an extremely talented performer in her hey day. This video from her might give you a better indication. There isn't one pop girl out there today who can dance like this: Yeah, she doesn't have the best voice. Not by a long shot. But she can put on a show with incredible stage production and choreography. You see someone like Adele live and marvel at her talent as a singer, you go to a Britney concert and marvel at her talent as a dancer. There would be many Britney fans, some of whom I have encountered who would say "Why go to a Gaga concert? She can't even dance that well". It really comes down to what you appreciate in a performance. This is a crude comparison, but it's kind of like laughing at someone for enjoying going to the Ballet because they don't sing like in an Opera. People go to the Ballet to appreciate the talented dancers and show, people go to the Opera to appreciate the talented singers and show. Makes sense to me! I think Brit is an amazing dancer and I wish Gaga could emulate that more but for me personally I prefer a blend of the two as opposed to a huge strength on one of the sides. I do like you bringing Adele into the conversation I think that actually makes a very good point I hadn't considered before. I think the difference is Adele has never even attempted to step into dancing (maybe for 25 she will ) while on the other hand Brit did sing live at one point. Brit is a good performer and if you wanna spend your money to see that then awesome! But I would rather invest in someone who can deliver both. Like, if I want a full meal I don't choose between burgers and fries, I get the combo meal and get a drink on the side. That's Gaga.. Dancing, Singing, and song writing.. She satisfies every need of mine and that just isn't something Brit could do for me.

SlayMeToVenus 3,290
I would be a fan, but NOT a Little Monster. I don't have a Diamond Heart.
ctherainbow 3,162
I wouldn't. I'm a singer, so I have no respect for recording artists who can't actually sing live. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.

Whispering 18,865
No, because vocals are what I Stan for most. If they don't have excellent vocals, I need excellent songwriting. Of course, Gaga has BOTH! That's just my personal preferences, as I know others look for other things. Britney was always more of a dancer and an image, than a gifted vocalist. She was a product of the MTV days. I like Brit, but it never was for her vocal ability.

Whispering 18,865
that's the exact argument I'm having with a Britney stan right now.. he said "you don't go to a britney concert expecting flawless live vocals" but I'm like.. Why wouldn't I just go to a show with pretty good dancing and amazing live vocals instead of seeing great dancing over the studio version?I think lots of people go for nostalgia...probably the same reason Gaga went to Britney's concert. I saw Britney live when I was in the first grade! (We started early, it was my fifth major concert by then) I would go back to see her in Vegas just because she was part of my history. We all loved her back in elementary school. I imagine it's the same sentiment for many people who loved Brit back in jr high or high school. They are going to the Vegas show to see an artist they loved in their early years and whose music they grew up listening to. Would I expect great vocals? No! Britney probably didn't have them back when I saw her many years ago, but I lived her songs and the show was pretty awesome and fun!

ShockPop 7,747
Are you a fan of a painter that doesn't paint? Writer that doesn't write? Would you support a fireman that doesn't fight fires?

I think what's more important is juggling multiple talents at the same time, which we all know Gaga does well.

Be someone's dancer.the comparison made earlier about ballet and opera is ridiculous. Its not laughing at people for liking different things... Its actually like going to the opera and getting a ballet dancer that makes awful sounds.
