I think it'll be a top 5, it's not that easy to get a #1

Just remember what Gaga said during Papaeazzi at the Monster Ball... MONSTERS, IF WE STICK TOGETHER WE CAN DO ANYTHING!!!!!!

SHE CAN. Shake it Off did it ! She just need a strong digital debut sales, the same date of music video release, and a radio deal.

She's no Taylor Swift though :laughga:

I'd love it if Gaga could open with 1m+ album sales but she is simpy not on that level

No, probably not, but very few songs accomplish this. It helps if the artists have the tweeny bopper crowd (which Gaga doesn't have) and timing is always important.

I'm more interested in where the song ends up, not where it starts out!

It's obvious that Gaga will come back with everything she's got for the top spot.

Gaga knows how to do it. She just needs to plan and execute accordingly.

She can do it easily if she wants. Single release, artist feature, video, acoustic release and a decent whip around some promo slots looking grammy-level-hot. Get it on a commercial and we've got money.

yes I'm expecting it to be a huge power ballad, either that or the second single from the album will be i believe. i find that oftentimes the second singles r better songs. a lot of the time the first is most radio friendly and catchiest, but not the best ones (btw and applause are this for me) tho bad romance is best so maybe she'll come out swinging w the best song first

Realistically, I'm saying top 5. If Applause could do it when she was going through her worst, messiest era, her new one can do it now that she's redeemed herself somewhat in the public's eyes. But I still think a #1 could be possible. The music industry love a good comeback. My advice is to stick to these pointers...

1. Lots of build up like teasing lyrics, teasing music video, etc. That's how BTW blew up.

2. Time it to perfection. Don't have it anywhere near the release of a bigger/more popular artist. If there's a surprise announcement from someone bigger that coincides, delay the release. We don't want another Applause vs. Roar situation ever again.

3. Up security to prevent leaks. Applause leaking early was the worst thing that could have happened to it as no one was prepared. Bring up BTW's level of security, no matter what.

4. Get a radio deal. And it needs to be on the level that BTW's was. Just pay it, Interscope, it'll be worth it.

5. Release music video at the same time as the song. Or thereabouts. Song sales + streaming + Vevo views all at the same time makes a #1 so much easier.

6. Promo, promo, promo. Even if it's not the biggest shows, just promo it wherever, and in as many major music markets as possible. And for God's sake, one of them had better be Australia.

7. Put it on pre-order in the UK. I hate this system, but it works and it's what Gaga needs right now. It doesn't have to be one of those 2 month ones (her UK fans will not be happy at waiting that long) but even a 3 week one or something. Do this, and she's guaranteed top 3 for sure.

8. Release some remixes. And release them individually this time. I know Gaga prefers to release a remix EP but at this moment, she needs to grab every individual sale she can get.

She needs of the support of the thirsty straight male with lots of boobs and butts bouncing in the MV. The gays has obviously failed her when Applause came out :smh:

I kinda screamed reading this omfg :dies: But it's true

Realistically, the GP and media can turn on Gaga just as easy as they accepted her again so I'm kinda worried in case she does something that causes the GP to hate her again (Calling LG4 album of the decade, bad acting in AHS, Suddenly turning homophobic...).  Monsters need to stop relying on the one performance in February to help an album being released in 2016.

With all of that said, if Gaga was able to make Applause go top 5, she can make any lead single go top 5! I think she can go number one if there is nothing stopping her and the RedOne collab is fresh and new while also being simple and catchy!
