Katy Perry reading her lyrics from screen

Tony needed the teleprompter, he is an old wise guy <3

But i agree, this forum needs some discussions about some good music and real artists. Not so much celeb gossip.

Yeah it could be only for Tony, not her. And IF it was for her too, it's a one-time tv performance of someone else's song, not a tour with her own self-written hits.:coffee:

Guys, what if she's just having memory loss. You know she's aging already. :green:

even I know some kp songs from memory. This is sad. If you claim to write your own music then need sheets or prompters to be able to do it correctly then you're a sorry excuse for a person.

I know thousands of songs from before I was born... It's alleged that kp wrote the songs she cant remember the words to.

It'd be more acceptable tomake a mistake singing live... But of course with Katy it'd be out of sync if she started lipping the wrong words.

Gaga sometimes has messed up her lyrics too. Does that means that she didn't really wrote them? NO.

You misread. Reread what I said.

Not that you will, looking at your super impartial username.

Exactly nobody has caught this because she doesn't actually use it and it's just there for back-up :rip:

Bye at this thread having so many pages about a damn teleprompter. Haven't you guys honestly ever forget one of Gaga's lyrics? I've sung them a thousand times and I may blank out once in a while. Now imagine being in front of an audience, where so many things could go wrong.

What's sad is the NUMEROUS threads and "jokes" bashing gaga on her own forum and the forum police seem to come out in droves whenever it's another artist.

Not entirely true, if you see something say something aka report it. I don't have the ability to read every single post and thread :)

Many artists do this. You've listened to a song a thousand times, and you can't tell me once that you didn't mix up a word. Plus, this helps them keep their pace with the music.

I've seen that Demi did this too when she came here. It's common, but still funny though. There are so many ways to dissimulate that, like having the studio version of your song playing by some headphones, haha.

I know that artists do this, but I don't understand it...I mean, it's your music. I know people forget things sometimes, but your own music? Regardless of if you wrote it or not, I just feel like it shows a lack of effort that you don't know the words to your own music by heart. Like, if you're a performer, your one and only job above everything else is your music which includes knowing your lyrics, everything else should come second. I'm not hating on Katy because I know she's a great songwriter, I'm just saying that, in general, I don't understand why some artists even need something like a screen to fall back on. Even if you mess up words (Gaga has a ton of times), just bounce back as soon as you can.

Of course you defend her, you are the one who agreed with another user that Dark Horse is better than all of the ARTPOP. :smh: I would not call that unbiased but ok.

You don't need to have superpowers, it's pretty obvious that nowdays dragging Gaga on her own fansite is called "not being delusional", "valid criticism", while other popgirls are protected like endagered species.

We should be allowed to criticize them just as much as you all criticize Gaga.

What's wrong with messing up once in blue moon?

It's not like her songs are very complicated. Someone said she's using it only during acoustic set. So she's not even dancing or moving, what is distracting her? But even if she forgets, she can just point mic towards the audience. I'm sure they'll help her out.

I agree with a lot of this, particularly towards Gaga.

But in regards to Katy, I've never heard about this sort of thing until now, which makes me think she doesn't really need a teleprompter. Her performances I've seen seem pretty good, so maybe it's just there for her peace of mind, like maybe she needed it a bit when she was starting out and now doesn't but it's kind of reassuring to have it. Others have said Beyonce uses one, and she's a very seasoned performer, so maybe it's like a safety blanket.

As I've said before, I doubt she can pay much attention to it while performing, unless she is just standing there, and even then it's easier to concentrate on what she's singing (the lyrics) rather than focusing on the choreography.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Exactly alot of artists use it for backup just in case they forget, but they don't actually use it unless their memory really slips which is rare but possible. We're all humans after all
