Toronto To Grow 50% in 10 Years!

Yeah, if public transportation could keep up as well, that would be great...  

But slé Toronto I guess... :-)

​so true... Toronto subway line is so old and short... I have no idea how people commute with buses and streetcars in the winter....

That's exciting if true. I imagine the areas nearby will get more developed as more and more people who want to experience the city but can't afford to live there will seek out the next best thing.

​Eventually I wager those residential communities will become large enough for a few commercial properties and perhaps some office space. In twenty or thirty years they could see their own mini shopping centers and other areas of commerce. It all sounds really exciting.

Ok well, its not just houses. My city (Brampton) for instance has 575,000 Mississauga another city nearby Toronto has almost 1 million

 

im not talking about small towns here. Malls and office space exiss like in a normal cities.

 

i just meant the residential construction part of it in the suburbs is mostly houses. Cuz theres still space so no sense cramming everyone together

 

In my city were growing by about 20,000 ppl a year. But we only build 1-3 condos a year. The rest is all just houses in the new areas as far as the eye can see. Very suburbian still for now

 

I know many other parts of Canada like in Quebec... Actually all of eastern Canada theres no population growth at all!

​lol yes Canadas population is concentrated in the southern borders. in fact 90% of Canadians live within 160 miles of the US border!

The 3 northern territories which make up a good 30% to 40% of Canadas landmass hold less than 0.5% of the population. Theres only 1 small city (yellowknife) in one of the territories which has less than 50,000 people and then basically its just a few native communities spread all around

 

But the thing is we have 10 Provinces and 3 territories. The Province of British Columbia is growing slightly as well as Sasktachwean...

 

Alberta & Ontario alone make up nearly 80% of Canadas population growth. Alberta because of the economy, and Ontario cause thats where the bigger citiers are where people wanna live
