Besides condos, office buildings for all the Corporations moving in cannot be built fast enough! Canada only has a few large cities, and the other few large cities such as Montreal or Vancouver are not quite as diverse or exiting. Canadians who want an exiting, large city with just about everything you can think of to do pretty much only have Toronto to move to. Even NYC 2 years ago had only half as many skyscrapers under contruction but i think its the lack of exitment elsewhere here. I live in the suburbs of Toronto in a city attached to it and everyone here wishes they could live there cause its so much cooler and more exiting but they simply cant afford it. Canada doesnt have too many other large cities so if u wanna live in a mini-NY, Toronto is the closest option we have so its drwas tones of ppl and as a result, fast population growth Its crazy expensive tho. Corporate jobs is whats growing there. Many of those types of jobs are high paying so those ppl can afford to bid condos and houses higher pushing everyone else out of the market my grandparents house which is just outside the city core where buildings begin is worth almost $1 Million and i tell you that small home thats 110 years old is a piece of crap!!! I imagine the areas nearby will get more developed as more and more people who want to experience the city but can't afford to live there will seek out the next best thing.
