because she doesnt have to. There's been many times where ive wondered why she hasnt tweeted about things but honestly so much goes on in the world each day. She cant possibly tweet about everything and anything that occurs.

this.

it's nearly impossible to comment everything that's going on.

And your honest 'opinion' is to leave blacks to deal with black issues?

Some people within the black community actually advocate for that. Perhaps she feels she cannot contribute to the situation or has no place to speak, not being a member of the community. Perhaps she has been too busy to fully understand all the subtle nuances. I would also assume that this is such a hot topic political issue (even more so than LGBTQ rights), she doesn't want to be insensitive, or alienate any group as the media has a massive role in how this is all being played out and we cannot get a straight story. This is charged unlike anything we have seen in this country for a while, including the LGBTQ movement.

She doesn't have to talk about something if she doesn't want to.

However, some of you are quite contradictory. Some people here said Iggy Azalea was racist for "not commenting on race issues after superimposing black culture" she was attacked by everyone in the world, but when Gaga didn't no one attacks her... does anyone else think this is a bit unfair? Iggy didn't have to talk about something if she didn't want to, yet everyone still attacked her.

My response to this thread is why is everything within the media always a black or white issue?

What about us latinos? The world is not black and white. There is not one race that is more important than the other or facing more social injustice than the other. Theres all this talk about black lives matter, what about me? I don't see hoards of people in the streets fighting for my people.

And as far as Gaga commenting on social issues goes, she seems to have completely distanced herself from social topics in general. Its not like shes commenting on lgbtq issues either. Shes just trying to live right now. Shes said plenty over the years.

She tweeted something during Ferguson last year (before most of her peers did too), and it was sweet and simple. I do think it can be a bit complicated if you believe in a social justice issue, but aren't a part of the oppressed group and want to offer support without being seen as trying to speak for another group. Whereas she probably felt it easier to speak up for LGBT issues because she's actually a part of the LGBT too (a fact many seem to forget).

I don't know who in here is from the US or elsewhere but having grown up here and having witnessed first-hand the Rodney King riots, the OJ trial aftermath, and a lot more, I can tell you this is a very, very sensitive and complex issue for a lot of people.

Some people in the African American community might appreciate words of encouragement from Gaga, while others may see it as condescending or pandering preaching from a wealthy white person.

I'm not saying Gaga shouldn't or should comment on the issue, but I can see why she hasn't. It doesn't mean she doesn't care.

Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.

How come no one ever mentions Andy Lopez when talking about police brutality and racial issues anymore? Its like he's been completely forgotten. Do Latino lives not matter? What about everyone else? :awkney:

Because no matter what her statement would be she would receive endless amounts of backlash. Maybe she doesn't know enough on the issue to make an educated statement on it. While I would love to know what she things of so many issues, she's not a politician. And I think it's pretty obvious she's staying away from political/SJ issues as of late (not in a bad way) which from can objective point of view, it is probably for the better
