Guest Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 I think it all comes down to the fact that Gaga just didn't have enough time to properly develop the treatment for the video. I think people think way too deep into the entire DWUW situation by trying to blame R. Kelly or Terry for the video or the song or whatever. The label threw the DWUW single change on her last minute, and she was stripped of all of her Venus plans and expected to create an entirely new era aesthetic in an extremely short amount of time. The bottom line behind the video and single's presentation, promotion, etc. is that Gaga wasn't happy with having her opportunity to let her Venus ideas flourish taken away from her, and she never nailed down an exact look, feel, style, etc. for DWUW, and you can clearly see that over the course of the DWUW "era"...it was all over the place. She wasn't proud of the video because she didn't have enough time to figure out what she even wanted it to be, so she didn't release it, maybe as a way to get back at Troy or the label for taking away her chance to create a Venus era and video.
