Jjang 2,262
I honestly couldn't help it. The fact that you think Donatella is serious and Gypsy is Katy Perry level soul-less garbage. It seriously makes no sense, I don't even feel its a matter of opinion. Especially since Donatellas production is recycled.I wasn't even saying Gypsy was like profound or anything, but it was a moment of relatable vulnerability on an otherwise predominantly bouncy dance record.I could actually name a handful amount of Katy songs that are more soulful than Gypsy, though. blacklistedd 599
I could actually name a handful amount of Katy songs that are more soulful than Gypsy, though.(1) You would say this considering the amount of contempt you hold for the majority of Gagas output post Fame Monster/post born this way. (2) Katy Perry doesn't do soulful and before you try and call me ignorant, I am very familiar with her discography. My opinions on Katy Perry have literally nothing to do with Lady Gaga or my being a fan. Etc, etc cliche disclaimer. If you list any ballad off of Prism or One of the Boys im rolling my eyes in advance. Rolling my eyes even harder if you say Just Like the Movies. Regardless of Gypsys level of profundity or lack thereof, theres not a single Katy Perry ballad that is better than a Lady Gaga ballad. Not in my opinion. And im so tired of how this conversation has been tilted lol I wasn't even calling Gypsy profound or soulful or deep or whatever and its quite honestly not even one of my preferred Lady Gaga tracks. ALL I said was that it was a moment of vulnerability on an otherwise bouncy electro dance record. Thats its. The context of my statement has been totally lost at this point. bionic 50,107
Wasn't that what ARTPOP was supposed to be/turned out to be?

Jjang 2,262
There are none. Katy Perry doesn't do soulful and before you try and call me ignorant, I am very familiar with her discography. You did hint that you hold Gypsy in a higher regard than 'Katy Perry soul - less gargabe', though, which is what i'm addressing.
moonboywow 3,136
u REALLY don't listen to many other popstars do you No. Because of that reason. But if gaga "isn't like the normal pop star" shouldn't she be acting like "not an ordinary pop star"?

And I still do after watching this performance. Katy Perry performing a hackneyed ballad with an acoustic guitar in a room lit with candles doesn't convince me that theres profundity in her music or delivery. You have contempt for ARTPOP, you make that abundantly clear. I do not disagree with some of your criticisms and to be quite honest, Gypsy is not even one of my preferred Lady Gaga tracks. But when she performs it, I feel it because Gagas soul comes out on stage. I don't feel anything watching this. Katy Perry imo is the least authentic popular artist on the market. She comes across hollow even when shes trying to bare her soul.

I call out your arrogance with my own.And yes, that was not directed towards me as you did not quote me. I chose to respond to it.
Jesse Pinkman 4,660
This "basic" pop music is why 90% of us arr here, and has sold millions of copies WW along with several Grammys. Her most "experimental" pop record ARTPOP on the other hand... It's science, bitch
