Will she not re-new her contract with Interscope to sign up with a new label? Possible. Like any artist whose deals are nearing to completion.

Will she go independent? Unlikely. Even though some established acts have started their own labels, they're still under (or greatly supported) by the current big three music groups - UMG (world's #1 in terms of market share, home label of Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Eminem, Jay Z, Bieber, S. Smith, etc.), SME (close #2, home label of Beyonce, 1D, Timberlake, Britney, etc.), and WMG (distant #3, home label of Bruno Mars). Even the big independent labels like Disney Music Group and Big Machine Records (home label of Taylor Swift) have current distribution deals, both in the US and worldwide, with at least one of the big three (both have distribution deals with UMG, hence their releases are regularly mentioned in UMG's annual reports).

It's so rare for indies to just go by themselves without any support of at least one big music group and still be successful. How so? The music giants simply control the distribution of records. Lack of their support will lead to lack of availability to traditional music retailers across the globe, w/c would result to lack of profitability. So I doubt Gaga, or any A-lister like her, would completely go independent in its purest form.

Not to mention, the big labels are the ones that offer lucrative deals which any smart business-minded person would never turn a blind eye to. So it's preferable for Gaga to either stay in Interscope or within the world's music industry leader which is UMG. The pros of staying at the #1 music company outweigh the cons of leaving it and working for another organization with a new set of people who already have their own set of company favourites.

Don't you mean, "HAUS of Gaga Records?":hehe:

How do you even pronounce "Haus". Is it like "house" or "hoss"?

Imagine arnie saying it. Thats how. "Haauus"

Tbh their promo was flawless for the first three records, it was just ARTPOP. If they promote LG5 properly then no need for her to leave to another label. If it's cause of creative differences then her only route would be starting her own label. Capitol are also amazing with promo but they are even more restrictive towards creativity thus Katy's basicness.

Ok!

Is it wrong I am now laughing at the imagery of Arnold saying "Haauus of Gaga proudly presents for the puny and undeserving masses viewing and listening pleeasuure"?

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

SO many people here don't know what they're talking about
First of all, the label itself doesn't promote the artists. That's the job of the managar, the agent (they're the ones that book live performances), publicists, etc.

Second of all, Lady Gaga cannot just "leave" her label, EVEN after the contract expires. We don't know what type of contract it is, if it's term-based or album-based, and how many years/albums she has to saty for/deliver. Even after she has delivered the amount of albums she has to, or been in the contract for as long as she has to, the label can still choose to exercise one of their options, which means that they can extend her contract, even against her will.

Thridly, whoever is saying she should go indie don't know what they're talking about. besided, if she DID go independent, which is highly unlikely, she would still be funded by, distributed by, and everything would run through a major label. Most independant labels are actually not independant at all. They're under major labels such as def jam, interscope, rca, ect. which AGAIN is under major distributors, which today are only three; Universal, Sony and Warner. Same goes for making a label of her own. Those are called vanity labels and are still under other majors.

So many people here think they have it all figured out, because they know Lady Gaga is signed to interscope and her album didn't do as well as Katy Perry's, who is signed to Capitol, and then they figure that's all it takes, that that's the reason ARTPOP didn't do well, and if Lady Gaga's next album doesn't do well, it's the chairman of Interscope's fault and she has to leave and go to a different label. It doesn't work like that. She can't just leave. she signed a legal contract. Besides, her team, consisting of her manager, business manager, agent,  attorney, publicist are the ones that get promo slots, get the deals, book the shows, pull the ropes, etc. NOT the CEO or the people working at the Record Label.

Well, the main problem could have been (and probably was ) fixed after she changed management and joined Livenation... I think next era will be great in terms of promotion!

Interscope people have been been suportive with her and her vision.

I feel like Interscope gives her a fair amount of control on stuff, even though their promo machine might be a bit subpar. Capitol might be nice, but I doubt if she'll get that much control over what she does. I guess it depends on what you want :emma:

Katy was signed with Capitol during her One Of The Boys, Teenage Dream, Teenage Dream The Complete Confection, and PRISM eras, and she had complete control over all aspects and directions of her career, image, music, and art throughout all those eras and years (and still does). I don't think that it would be any different for Gaga.

I don't think that her record label would allow her to release an complete album produced by an no name like DJ White Shadow.

Katy on the other hand releases songs from the typical 08/15 producers, which are pretty generic and they are the biggest producers for radio public. She can't take risks, but maybe she don't want.

Her disney image and the generic producers are for me  signs that the record label control a lot.

Gaga said that she has a new team Noe and that they respect her artistic vision (unlike Troy and her past team). I don't think that she will leave Interscope.

I don't think so. She doesn't complain about her label - she makes the odd statement about 'record labels', but not directed at her own.

i doubt she could tho. u cant publicly talk down a company u work for. u have nothing to gain from that

And for the record i feel like if she doesnt have executives behind her, by herself shed do things that are totally nuts and her career would go on the fritz :reductive:

Katy works with them because she wants to. And fun fact: not all of Katy's material is all with the same producers. literally every Songwriter, producer, dancer, stylist, designer, and etc... who has worked with Katy can tell you and has said that Katy drives the ship, is the driving force, is the boss and the CEO, is in complete control in all aspects & directions in her career. Generic? Genreic means not being associated with any trademark and not being specific. You are misusing the generic word and probably don't even know what it means. Can't take risks? Hmm, I Kissed A Girl single? Ur So Gay song? California Gurls, Teenage Dream, E.T., and Dark Horse MVs? E.T. and Dark Horse singles? Releasing Thinking Of You as the 3rd single off of her One Of The Boys album and Unconditionally as the 2nd single off of her PRISM album? Dark Horse 2014 Grammy performance? Clearly, you don't know what you are talking about. Disney image? Oh, so now being humorous, being yourself, and keeping most of your material funny and colorful is now having a diney image? :lmao:also, the CEO of the Capitol has said that Katy is the brains of her operation. Which basically means Katy has 100% full control over her career, image, and material.
