How China deals with Internet-addicted teens is kind of shocking. And maybe a good idea?

The idea of treating a teen for an "addiction" to the Internet may seem a bit silly. But as this video shows, it goes way beyond some kid texting too much at dinner. Debilitating compulsive behavior can be destructive in whatever form it takes, even if it's in digital form. But while the fact that China's addressing the problem head-on seems like a good idea, the slightly barbaric and harsh way in which they're going about it probably wouldn't work too well in the U.S. (and it remains to be seen if it even works there).

theyd probably put me in there since I'm accessing the Internet all day everyday either on my phone or laptop

My eyes hurt so much after staring at a screen for like one hour I don't understand how can they spend so much time. And some people get obsessed so much that they TOTALLY forget about the reality. :/

Yeah I'm constantly connected to the Internet on either my phone or laptop, I'm not necessarily ON IT all day, like I will only check it once every two hours if I'm out with friends but most days when I'm at home I'm on it from the minute I wake up till I go to sleep either browsing, studying or on social media/forums

I don't like this boot camp, addiction is never good but I think it is possible to help them in a different way

in the end it is their lives and if they enjoy playing games it is totally fine as long as they don't hurt nobody directly

More like parents running away from their job for teaching discipline and values to their children, send them to boot camp and in the meantime, let's have a cruise trip!
