Speaking during a panel about NASA’s projects to search for alien life and habitable worlds, the agency's head scientists predict that humanity is teetering on discovering signs of alien life.

"I think we're going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth within a decade, and I think we're going to have definitive evidence within 20 to 30 years," NASA chief scientist Ellen Stofan said, according to Space.com. "We know where to look. We know how to look. In most cases we have the technology, and we're on a path to implementing it. And so I think we're definitely on the road."

At this point I'll be happy with a micro-organism on Titan or Europa or wherever  (probably most likely anyway)

I guarantee they already have had spaceships and specimens for years now, if not actual contact. What they are really saying is that the public will be informed about such a thing and given evidence within the next decade.

I always felt like the Bad Romance video was influenced by the Alien movies.

I totally agree. NASA know a lot of stuff but they just haven't told the public. I guess it's understandable. Everyone would kinda freak out. It'll interesting to see how it all plays out

Didn't we technically already find alien life? Like in the form of microscopic bacteria?

I know they found a rock from Mars that they think might have fossilized bacteria in it, but I don't think it was ever confirmed if it was actually bacteria.

All I know about Mars was that there were ca--ls containing traces of ice which caused scientists to conclude that Mars once looked very much like Earth. I think one of the farthest planets outside our solar system is expected to be a lot like Earth and that our Sun isn't the biggest star in the galaxy or even the biggest Sun. That's about the extent of my knowledge.

Yeah our sun is pretty small compared to others. This is 'Canis Majoris', it's in the Milky Way and it's huge
