We'd have had an amazing collab(or a Me Against the Music sized mess :green: ) by now, and maybe Madonna would have been ggd's 2nd fave artiste :Chica:

BUT, Hung Up was a different story. Madonna PERSONALLY asked for a sampling of Gimme me! Gimme me! Gimme me! from ABBA and then made it to Hung Up with the collaboration of Stuart Price. Even members of ABBA are listed as songwriters of Hung Up. That's not the case with Born This Way.

Lol, I guess Gaga wouldn't ignore Madonna, you know, if M wouldn't have performed the mash-up on the MDNA tour. I guess that's what hurt Gaga the most.

MY world would definetely be a better place :spin:

Is it just me or do you think Gaga avoids Madonna because they are only around each other in public and she doesn't know how Madonna would react? Maybe its just still really uncomfortable for Gaga. I mean, before ReductiveGate in 2012 Gaga loved and supported Madonna growing up. It would be like one of us becoming a pop sensation and being inspired by Gaga anthem her going on national TV and shading us. It would feel sad.

No, she didn't. A live performance in concert of a cover song does not involve royalty payments to the original artist or songwriter.

Gaga received no money from Madonna's mash up.

I thought the songwriter(s) and publisher got performance royalties, and not the artist, except for when the artist also wrote the song. or am I mixing it up with mechanical?

I know you need a license from HFA when you wanna release a cover, but does that apply for live performances too?

Imagine if Madonna, when she was asked about Born This Way on an interview, had replied with something like "it's okay, I did it with Hung Up, and it's been done for ages. I appreciate it." instead of the unfamous "reductive".

Why should Madonna say this ? Gaga has nothing sampled from Madonna. Since there is a passage that sounds similar, but that happens everywhere.

Btw Madonna stoled the melody of Gang Bang on MDNA from another artist,  so she should say nothing at all.

madonna isnt talented and has a terrible voice, so taking a piss at gaga was inevitable, because thats what she does, she latches onto whatever's popular and of the moment to add another 15 minutes to the flagging relevancy she has left as an entertainer because she refuses to evolve.

Maybe things would have been different, there may have been a performance and a song together. Hostility might be lesser between fanbases and maybe pawsdown wouldn't exist.

But that's maybe and this is reality and my personal opinion that Madonna is not a nice person wouldn't have changed.

Also, there is NOTHING comedic about depicting an Artist's fans as blind monsters eating cans of recycled iconography.

Yeah of course it's uncomfortable. I totally understand Gaga.
What Madonna did wasn't cool in my opinion, I mean, I didn't care about the reductive comment. The only thing that really, really made me mad was the mash-up at the tour. That was so unnecessary und just cruel. It's like you said, I would be heartbroken if Gaga did that to me. And Madonna knew that Gaga loved  her a lot, so I just think it's awful that she did it.

I know specially when HER fans are the blindest and she's the queen of copycats (Sorry Katy)
oh and while I'm at it, she's a hypocrite that doesn't do the things she preaches in her songs. I want her dead #sorrynotsorry
