Blackface is NOT a big deal. Actually laughing at the pressed little white gays here that think they know everything. I understand that this situation isn't what it seems but how is blackface not a big deal? Like in the grand scheme of things you don't think it recalls minstrel shows and the treatment of blacks in america? I really hope I'm misunderstanding what you meant because if you tried to tell my black step siblings/black professor that blackface isn't a big deal you would get knocked the hell out. Also during the Carnival parade in Mainz, there was an entire blackface wagon and at least 10 people in black face walked around me. I don't know where you're exactIy from, but I guess black face is less common in areas where Germany was once occupied by the Americans/British.
